Just called the NVC today and our case arrived yesterday! Question though, everytime i call they always say “this is for an I-130 right?” I say no an 129! How do they not know that? They said it could take up to 8 weeks for a case number. How soon has everyone been getting case numbers after arriving?

They say that because your calling to soon and they have no answer to give you. So you get the pad answer "8 weeks".

Good morning! I called NVC just a while ago and got our case# and invoice ID#. how can I check if its already in "transit" or "ready"? What are the next steps? TIA

You are processing through the Philippines and so you have all that you need right now to begin getting your interview and medical set up. By the time you finish your medical your case will be at USEM. The great thing about getting a visa from the Philippine's Consulate is that you don't have to wait now. Here is some information to get started.

Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get down. To smooth that trail for your I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

Start by visiting Hanks site where he has taken the time and research, and of course it helps if you spent 8 plus years helping folks in the Philippines sub-forum get their visas, where he has listed each step. With those steps he includes the what, when and why to completing the item. Many have used the website and have had little or NO problems securing a visa from USEM.

http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

Next you'll want to connect with those who are processing through the Philippines in the VJ Philippines sub-forum that way you will be with like minded ppl who are sharing their experiences and also asking and answering questions. Since most in this thread are processing through another country they would be hard pressed to explain what is needed for the Philippines.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

You'll find this on Hank's website but I will give it to you early and that is the Packet 3 Letter for USEM. It's found here:

https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

Here is the Packet 3 letter.

https://ph.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2016/08/K1-and-K2-Applicant-Interview-Preparation-Instructions-08112016-English-336KB.pdf

There you have it. Everything you need to get your visa. Good luck and smooth sailing.

Hey guys I need your help real quick. For the letter of intent, to whom are we going to address it? For example before for the i129f we addressed our intent to USCIS. How about now that we're trying to gather our requirements for the embassy. Anyone who knows anything about this? My consulate is Philippines. Please complete your profile so we know what Embassy when we look at your information in the left margin. I just gave someone the instructions on how to complete their profile. Please refer to it. Thanks, TIA☺️

Address it to USEM. Follow the rest in these instructions.

Hi everyone, we got out NOA 2 letter June 5, NVC case number assinged on June 21, but it is still waitting at the NVC. Is it normal to sit there that long? The embassy is in Bogota Colombia, anyone else waiting 2 or more weeks for the package to be sent to the embassy? I called already like 6 times since we got the case number and they keep saying it will be sent out shortly or they usually send them out in batches.  I also looked at a few other VJ timelines for colombia and some other couples got their interviews dates set quickly.  Any ideas or suggestions.  We are frustrated here.

Any links on Colombia Embassy or the next steps guidelines and what is required prior to the interview anyone care to share. Any help would be appreciated.

There is no "normal" these days. Some go in a few days some later and others much later. There is one who has been waiting 2 months. This is a process that takes patience.

VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in the Colombian and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa

from their personal experience. Link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

Get the US Embassy Colombian K1 Embassy Letter (EL) at  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7hB3bl9Snfkb0NiMVFUd2JsVjA/view  as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for your country so that you are up to speed.  http://bogota.usembassy.gov/

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages and here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Colombia&cty=Bogota

Good luck and God's speed.

The link on their web page takes  you to the process you should follow. In that process is tell you how to make the interview. I invite you to go to the Embassy''s website and review their requirements. Knowledge is powerful so do you research and try outside of VJ and see what you find. Google is your best friend.

We got our Case # yesterday 😁

Congratulations.

Unfortunately I don't have a true Packet 3 letter from your Embassy but what I do have I'll share with you.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Chile&cty=Santiago This line is a little old from 2017 and should be used with caution.

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-cl/iv This is the Embassy's website with all the information for Chile. You'll need to do a little exploring to find your answers.

Also I have this https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/SNT-Santiago.pdf

You should be over in the sub-forum for your area where you can ask some of the others who are applying and also there are some experts that can answer your questions.

Hi I really appreciate your input but i hope you saw my recent post that I actually called the embassy here and they have informed me that for k1 visa, the appointment schedule is not made online as what others embassy does. They email you when your papers arrive and give you instructions as well as setting your appointment for interview. They also mentioned that the online appointment here is mostly for other visas such as b1/b2, work visas etc and does not apply to k1.
