What is the best hour to call NVC?

Call at 7am EST and they will pick up on the first ring. Call in the last hour of the night and you should get through with a short wait time.

Thanks!!

Anybody with NOA2 date from June 8th already received the case number? I called NVC today and they didn't receive my case yet. What I find strange is that they ask me if it is a I-130 petition.. it is the second time they ask me that after I provide my WAC number. Should I be worried that they mix my case with someone else with a I-130f petition?

No you shouldn't be worried. That mistake I never see. You may have the same name or similar spelling or this might be common question asked by the agent.

IV is to watch for status updates for the stage from the NVC to your embassy. (Use NVC case #).

NIV is to watch for status updates after your interview to see the process of Visa processing/approval/issued. (Use the DS160#).

Please what is IV ad NIV?

Hello all,

I have a question, may sound stupid but I'll take that chance.

So I just filled out the DS-160 online and got the confirmation.  Now the DS-160 is for a non-immigrant visa for a K1 filer.  When checking status on the visa application you have to look up IMMIGRANT visa status (IV) and not Non-immigrant (NIV).  Why is it that I had to fill out a non-immigrant application but have to check status under immigrant visa.

so confused

Just received my NVC number after only 2 weeks from receiving my NOA2 June11th so looks like the National Visa Center is on top of things there. Guess I can get my fiancee's visa paid and schedule her interview next month. Glad to be moving along here so everyone hang in there!!

Hey Everyone,

Just called NVC. I had to wait for about 15 minutes most but I had my phone on speaker phone and was doing my own things until they picked up. My NOA2 was June 9th. They said they received my case and I gave them my fiance's email. I got the case number today. So happy. All the best everyone.

Hey guys, I am not able to figure out where to check the status on NVC website. I know it was mentioned earlier to check it on CEAC website but when I go there and check visa status it asks for application ID (which I think is from DS160). Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thank you.

A K1 Visa is classified as a non immigrant Visa with immigrant intent.
