I see you are from San Jose too. What neighborhood? Evergreen here!

I'm the beneficiary but when I will move to San Jose, it will be Edenvale. So cool that you are from there 😊 I always wonder if somebody, who is going through that process will live/ lives in SJ

We were approved yesterday so i am happy to finally be at this phase of the process! I know someone had posted before but i can’t seem to find it, but could anyone tell me if for Germany we have to wait for them to mail packet 3 or if we can get started ahead of time after receiving NVC case number. Also can anyone give me the link for the required documents for packet 3. Thank you in advance

Congrats. Here is the information you need.

If we get the NVC Case #, can we schedule the medical exam before the Embassy receives it from the NVC? Or, do we need to wait until the Embassy notifies her?

Thanks!

Just got my NVC number. June 4 NOA2 and received by NVC on the 19th. I checked multiple times yesterday but it took them an additional day for data entry.

Is your A number the same as the nvc number?

No.

Your 'A' number/Alien number is the number given to the foreign applicant by USCIS. You will use it to reference yourself on any further immigration petitions/applications/situations. It is found on the hard copy of the NOA2 above the beneficiary's name and references a PERSON rather than an application. You will keep this number for the rest of your days to reference yourself on documents.

The NVC case number is the number the NVC gives your case. It starts with the first three letters of your embassy and it is used to reference your case at your embassy.

HI All,

I see this question as been asked many times but only have seen responses specific to other countries.

I received case # from NVC on 6/19 but case is still "AT NVC". Can my fiance schedule medical exam in Taiwan? Some people have said you don't need invitation letter, only need the case # which we have. SO many different answers not sure who to listen to. Couldn't find answers on the Taiwan sub forum.

Thank you!

Thank you! I have all those links. My question wasn't Ukraine specific. We are waiting on the case number from the NVC. I called today and will call tomorrow to get the case number. I know, it will take 5-10 days to get to the Embassy once they assign a case # and an "A" number.  My question is when I call the NVC and get my case number over the phone, can we immediately schedule the medical exam since we will have the NVC case number, even though the Embassy has not received it yet from the NVC? Or are we required to wait until the Embassy receives it?

This part of your question is embassy specific.

When you can schedule your medical and interview is dependent on the procedure at your embassy.

In Ukraine, yes... you can schedule the medical exam once you have the case number. You don't need to wait for that part.
