For us, NVC did not send ANY snail mail TO ANYONE.

At the NVC stage I gave them my (Beneficiary) email address once they had my case. (DO THAT!).

NVC did not contact my USC petitioner. The last notice he received for anything was the NOA2 and that was in the mail.

I (Beneficiary) received an email from NVC once my case left for my embassy. Not sure of this email's importance yet (if any) as I had already called NVC for my case # so I could track my case on CEAC but I have printed a copy for the file just in case.

Moral of the story: it's "Beneficiary time" once the case gets to the NVC. Most, if not ALL, documents will be sent to the beneficiary whether by mail or email. As soon as NVC gets your case, GET YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS ON THAT FILE as, if you don't want to wait for snail mail, this is your best option. NVC won't have it or ask for it, YOU MUST OFFER IT!

Hi @K1visaHopeful I too am the beneficiary. So we shouldgive the NVC our email addreds once they receive our file right ? Also what is snail mail?

Thanksbin advance.

Also what is snail mail? Lol, Post/hand delivered mail/snail as in "as slow as a snail" in some countries!

Thanksbin advance.

Not technically on this site yet hopefully wil be here soon (perpetual optimist), but thought I might catch somebody here that's not on the Nov 2017 thread. So if anybody experienced something like this would appreciate any input. I got an RFE on June 1 took 14 days to arrive!! looking for anybody that might have any input. I was married 4 times. Yep! some extenuating circumstances:whistle: Anyway got certs for 1st and 2nd divorce and death cert for my last but Los Angeles county not finding 3rd divorce (1988 all on paper no computers) wondered if anybody has had that or similar experience? Spoke with USCIS and all he could say was right up explanation and would depend on the adjudicator. Could not speak with a tier 2. Just wanted to see if anybody had some advice before I send it in. Any response is appreciated. If you don't want to put it on here my email slb6513@hotmail.com.  Thanks

Sooo here are my news of today... I just talked to NVC. A very nice lady said, that the case arrived, but no file# yet. It could take up to 8 weeks, but we are free to call earlier (e. g.next week). NOA2 is June 1

Meh, call tonight! You never know...mine arrived at NVC and I got the case number that day too.

Wow. THAT fast? I will call tomorrow, it's getting late here 😴 And Mike isn't ready with the papers for the affidavit, so I can't really go ahead. I first want to have everything ready before I schedule the appointment for the medical

I'm sure your embassy is different but don't forget you still have time between:

1) NVC processing your case (mine took 7 days).

2) The time it takes to get from NVC to the embassy (mine took a day because it was electronic but some take longer).

Like I said you still have time as I cannot imagine you'd get an interview date the following day after it arrived at the embassy. Sometimes you will have to wait a month or even 2 to schedule. And again like I said, each process is embassy specific but I've had to wait for packet 3 and 4 since May 30th. Just got P4 yesterday and now I'm waiting for available appointments as there are none.

You have time. You won't hold up your process by getting your Case#, just one less call you'll have to put aside time for to make.

This part is like the game "Go, go, stop" if you're familiar. Get what you can done as soon as you can excluding the medical as, of course you want to get that done as close to your interview as possible.

I think, I have almost everything ready. Oh, forgot that I have to wait for my police record. They said, this takes up to 4 weeks to send it. Hmm, sounds familiar hahaha. What is pack 4?

P4 (in Canada, your embassy might not have one) is just the email stating you are ready to schedule the interview and instructions how to do so. Sort of like an invitation to schedule. In Canada you need to wait until you receive the P4 email because on the website on which you schedule the interview you must declare you have received P4 before you register. Sort of like waiting in a queue until they call your number, receiving P4 means they called your number. "You may proceed to see if we have any interviews now".

Get my "Go, go, stop" reference now, lol?

Happy Days!!! As expected and hoped for we received our NVC Case# and Invoice ID today! I also gave the lady on the phone my beneficiaries email address. 18 days from NOA2 to NVC#! Time for us to submit the DS-160 and print two copies, pay the fee, schedule the interview and print 3 copies, schedule the CFO and medical. Praying everyone here receives their NVC# soon. :D
