I am not aware of any Embassy requiring the NOA2 but if it is your P3 letter from your Embassy, please provide one as instructed. I believe that you will need a copy for your AOS after marriage but there is a thread that address's this issue From <http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/323385-filing-for-aos-with-lost-noa2/>

I’m sorry I don’t know what the heck I was thinking when I wrote that lol. I meant to say letter of intent to marry. Is there a 2nd one needed with an updated date that’s near the interview since the previous one was dated back in December 2017?

Yes. A second Letter of Intent to Marry is usually required to be submitted at the interview and signed by the petitioner but that is dependent on which embassy you are filing through. Your embassy will let you know what documents are required to be brought to the interview usually in Packet 3 if your embassy issues such.

A letter of intent is not needed at MOST Embassy's. The P3 letter will outline what is needed. Do only what do will do.

My fiance's interview is in about 12 hours and we are drowning in anxiety - tips anyone?

The Visa interview is the most important part of the whole visa process. A successful interview has a positive impact on your visa being granted. Following are some of the most common mistakes people make during their interview. The beneficiary needs to relax but be CONFIDENT that they deserve this visa and that confidence needs to be forthcoming to the interviewing CO. So smile, stand tall, look the CO in the eyes and answer the questions honestly.

Things to remember:

(1) Always tell the truth even if the truth is "I don't know".

(2) Look the CO in the eyes when answering.

(3) Be confident with your answer. Remember, you deserve this visa!

(4) Don't volunteer any information if not asked for. Give short and to the point answers. Don't get into story telling.

(5) Remember to smile as this is the first day of the rest of your life. If you don't get beyond this point with an approval your life will seem incomplete. You are in charge!

If they keep you passport there is a 99% chance your APPROVED. Good luck.

1. Not Prepared Well for the Interview

Being prepared for interview can better equip you for the interview. Prior research and preparation for commonly asked questions and their appropriate answer will be helpful during the interview.

2. Not Providing Complete and Truthful Information

It is very important that you provide complete and truthful information. Any incomplete/false information can lead to unnecessary delays for you being approved. False information can have severe impact on your future ability to apply for a US visa. It may also cause you lot of frustration and legal actions against you.

3. Providing Incomplete Documentation

Have all the required documentation with complete and authentic information. Read all the prerequisites and prepare all the documents accordingly. Keeping your documentation well organized can also leave a positive impression on the consulate officer.

4. Not Carrying Appropriate Fee

US consulate has a strict method for payments. Make sure you know the method and the exact amount of the applicable fee. For example, most US consulates don't accept cash as the payment method and would prefer separate bank drafts for visa application and visa issuance fee. Refer to an appropriate source for more detailed information.

5. Providing Unnecessary Extra Information

Do not give away any information voluntarily which is not being asked. In many cases, people trying to be over confident and over smart give out more detailed answers than is required. This may trigger additional related questions which may not work in your favor.

For example:

Question: Why do you want to go to the US?

Wrong Answer: I want to see how USA is and if I like it I want to stay back with my son.

Preferred Answer: For tourism purpose and/or to spend some quality time with my son/daughter.

6. Inconsistent Information

Inconsistency in the information about what you provide in the documentation and what you say during the interview can go against your case.

7. Arguing with the Consulate Officer

Never ever make any arguments with the consulate officer. If you want to know more or need additional information ask in a polite manner.

8. Having Poor Communication

Poor communication is the number one reason  that affect your case in a negative way. If you're not good in English, you should request for a regional language interpreter.

9. Having too Much Communication (talking too much)

Remember, you are the one being interviewed and not the other way around. So, keep your communication brief and to the point. Speak only when asked for an answer. Give answers that are brief and don't go on and on.

10. Appearing to be Nervous

Being confident can bring positive results. Especially, in case of visa interview where a consulate officer has to rely on limited information provided by you. Their judgment is highly influenced by the way you react to questions, your body language, and the authenticity of you answers.

Hi  to tommal

I'm also sri Lanka waiting for my embassy package to receive so tell me how long u took for the medical ?:

Our case is ready nvc told us to wait 2 weeks today like 10 days I should contact to the embassy and find out abut our package

Congrats. Am so happy for you guys. Did you make an appointment with Asiri? For me, they asked about the interview date and gave a date prior to that. At Asiri it took me a lot of waiting. First you have to go to meet the doctor. I selected Dr. Nimal and he was so busy. My appointment was 8 but when I met him it was about 1.30 pm. Next he gave me some papers and asked to go to Asiri hospital and get the vaccinations done. After that I had to go back to them to give them that paper back. WOW. You know about our hospitals. :bonk:

Nothing to be worried. Ask him to be cool. Only thing is that we are 100% truthful to them. They only want to check whether  the evidence are true and the affair is in good faith.  Awaiting to hearing from you the good news!

All the best guys!

Thanks @Greenbaum and @Tommal !

we have a pretty solid and straightforward case. I'm just worried that I'm depending so much on my family member as a co-sponsor. I'm afraid it looks bad or something, that I go to uni full time and don't work at all.

Your over thinking and over reacting. This process of getting a visa is straightforward. Relax and do what you have to do and stop trying to make do to do. 😁

The system doesn't show sometimes because of the same problem (mismatch as they call) and it has nothing to do with I-94 being in the system.

I just went ahead and they checked it themselves I got my SSN with mismatch so they sent verification. But it still only took 3 weeks altogether and I didn't go to the office twice. You go once and apply, the rest is done by them. you will be in the system for I-94 (take a copy of it with you still) but save system may still not see you. however again, you won't go there twice they will just send you the card.

@Naes Naes,  have you gotten your SSN yet? I applied July 27th, the third day upon arrival, it's been more than a month now. I have been to SSA twice and called them to check my application status a million times, but they kept saying that my case is under verification. I checked SAVE, it said that case has been returned to agency, but SSA guy said still under verification.

I don't know what to do now.

Also, @GreenbaumDo you have any suggestion?

I applied the day before you - on 26th third day upon arrival. After the SAVE status said returned I believe it took a little while for me to get the mail from them because it came from Maryland (although not directly- it goes to your agency and then to you) I wouldn't worry if they said that on the phone. Cause it happened the same way with me. They told me it was under verification but the status was returned. It just takes longer due to local office being full sometimes - or so I believe.

Now I might have a new issue because I filed with my married name on AOS. According to a friend who was a week before me to receive NOA1 and checked with SSA to change the name on SSN card. It seems like USCIS has changed her maiden name into married name in SAVE.  Since I haven't gotten my SSN at this moment, and I already received NOA1 by email, I am afraid the verification will go into complicated scenario than expected because info in SAVE will not match my passport and i-94.😭

I am planning to go to the closest deferred inspection site to check with my SAVE info but I am not sure if that helps any.

May I ask if the interview is difficult or the cosul is strict

The interview is not difficult if you know your fiance well, smile a lot, be confident in your answers, have all your paperwork organized and easy to access when requested. I wish you the best with your interview. God bless.
