Hi!

We were approved on June 13 and I just wanted to ask, when getting the NVC number, do we really have to call or can we just wait for it to come by mail?

If by mail, how long will we wait for the number?

You kind of have to unless you just want to wait until they snail mail the beneficiary the rest.

1) Once my petitioner received the NOA2 hardcopy, that was the last anyone ever contacted him.

2) I had to call NVC in order to give them my (beneficiary's) email address. They will only contact the beneficiary from now on.

3) If you just want to sit silently and wait for them to contact you and send you Packet 3, I guess that's up to you but you won't be able to check its path from the NVC to your embassy.

4) Mine took a month and a week between NVC hardcopy and receiving P3 in the mail and that was super fast comparing. Are you okay with that?

5) And my case number never came in the mail prior to P3. They only emailed me (beneficiary) and the only reason they did that was because I called and offered my email.

Hello! We just got our NOA2 yesterday (woohoo!). Now time to wait again, haha.

Our case will be going through the London Consulate. I have no idea what to expect from here, but I hope it will be faster than the wait between NOA1 and NOA2! Anyone else here going through the London Consulate?

Hi! We are also going through the London Consulate. So nice to see another from Tennessee and the UK! I'm from Cleveland closest metro is Chattanooga :) I hope your fiance and mine have no troubles through the process at the embassy.

You do not have to call and you can wait for the email and your petitioner will get the mail. It will add 1-2 months onto your wait time. By calling and begining the same day processing in the Philppines you could be done and on a plane. I recommend you call and get the case number and proceed using the link I have provided for what to do for USEM interview.

@Greenbaum Just a question that has plagued me forever: How will they get the NVC email/case # as a beneficiary if she does not call NVC at all? They have not asked for the beneficiary email address at anytime of this process (the beneficiary has to manually give it to them either by the NVC inquiry form via email or by calling NVC)....

PS. My petitioner has received nothing at all since receiving the mailed NOA2.

my fiance called the NVC yesterday and this is the result

Quote: alright i talked to the nvs and he said it's going to take some time. they don't even have us in their database yet. he said up to 6 weeks. and then it will take up to 8 weeks before they'll have a new case file # Unquote

If this really takes thaaat long, how can they issue NOA2 with a validity of 4 month only? So it could be that we have to extend it?

I've read about many Russian beneficiaries who had to extend it due to the inability to sign up for interviews in time. So I'm sure it's possible..

It's so weird though. People are somehow getting their case numbers after 2-4 weeks. Maybe we just have to wait a little bit more and their answers will change too. :)

I assumed that an email address was provided which I think would be benefit to the couple. Thanks for pointing that out.

The validity of your NOA2 is 12 months, extended in increments of 4 months at a time till you reach 12 months.

Hello!!! what do you think is a realistic estimate for June noa2 poe??? Reading this thread seems like NVC process takes time as well. Any thoughts

Hi!  My friend whos under the jurisdisction of the Manila Embassy had her POE, two months after receiving the NOA2. Anyway, Manila Embassy is known for having readily available interview slots in comparison to other countries like Japan. So it depends a lot on your embassy.

Not knowing what Embassy you are processing through prevents us from responding to many of your questions. If you look at the profile others here, they have a flag for their country so it makes it easy for us to reply. Each Embassy has different set of process's and no two are the same.

So if you could help yourself out and complete your profile sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Depending on your Embassy can be as short as 1 month or sometimes up to 3 months. It depends on the Embassy and how fast you work. Again, since I don't know your Embassy, this is a wild estimation.

Thanks

The noa2 date is the date in the letter or the date the website said we were approved?

Date of the letter. But, it really is not a big deal if you are a day or a week off. As everything with timelines is an estimate anyways.
