Hi, this question may have been asked before :

Can the beneficiary visit USA after NOA2 approval but before the visa interview? Would it create any problem legally at Immigration if you have a definite stay of 15 days with a return ticket in hand and employer letter stating I need to join back by a specific date.

Thanks in advance !!

It is allowed but at the descresion of the officer at POE.  Always be completely honest when entering the country.  The officer has the right and power to either allow entry or to deny entry.  The beneficiary would have to convince the officer that he/she will return before the end of the authorized stay.

"The US immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and a significant amount of money.  It is quite a journey!"

Good morning everyone,

How is everyone doing on your path for NVC or scheduling the interview?

In my case it has been 12 days since I paid for the interview, but the embassy hasn't given us an interview date yet.

I hope you guys are luckier than us scheduling the interview.

Hey everyone, just wanted to get some timeline ideas for our K1.

NOA1 Nov 13, 2017

NOA2 May 24, 2018

NVC Receive June 14, 2018

ours is to Kuwait embassy, the case is stuck “at NVC” since June 14, about a month now. Without any progress into Transit or Ready state. I have been seeing it only takes a week or two max for K1 cases at NVC. Is ours typical?

I have the same issue. I was NVC received on the 19th, and number given on the 21st. Still at NVC

So I just got my case number and the agent was surprised I didnt have it already. Oh well she gave it to me and said it was completing processing to be sent to lagos. Does anyone know what happens if the expiry date is close and the visa process is still incomplete? I am just curious

Lately, it's been taking about 2-4 weeks for NVC to assign a case number. Just a little more patience. Keep checking the website for updates on your case.

The approval to interview expiry date is one year and is authorized in blocks of 4 months. It's up to each individual Embassy whether they will grant extensions beyond the initial period. Most Embassy's will grant an extension if requested.

It's actually taking 2-4 weeks for approvals. I'd give it a another week or so then you might try both options below.

First try shooting off an email to the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV The Ombudsman provides an impartial and independent perspective to USCIS in an attempt to resolve problems.

Second try your U.S. representative's contact information can be found in this handy directory, and your U.S. senator's information is in this one.

Just received our NVC case # and invoice ID can we do our medical exam and DS160? Thanks

My fiancée in Kiev/Ukraine

DS-160 can be done anytime up to the day before the scheduled interview. Each Embassy is different to when you can do your medical. Read the P3 letter for additional information.

The beneficiary will need to travel on a visa for that purpose. Does he/she have a visa for that travel?

Hi everyone.

My NOA2 was dated June 22. I called the NVC today and they haven't received it.  Should I call every day at this point or just every few days? The gentleman talked to said it could take up to 6 weeks for them to receive it😭

Thanks😁

I understand NVC 's general message is 2-8 weeks before sending it to the Embassy, but how long after they've assigned a case number? And in just looking at the past 20 cases in Ukraine that have had an interview, everyone of them is 3.5 to 5 weeks (the longest) total time from the NOA2 approval to the Embassy receiving the case. Do you think the NVC got backlogged in the last month? Note: I've had my NVC case number 3 weeks on Thursday.

And on a different topic, I thought I had the I-134 figured out perfect until the last couple posts about it.....Now I'm confused, Do or do not enter my name on line 26?

I have the same question. How long after you receive a case number does it get sent to the embassy?
