I just received my NVC Number today.  NOA2 June 13. I was tied up and couldn't call everyday.  It says at NVC and then talks about 6 steps to do.  Does that apply to K1 visa or do we just wait till it gets shipped to the Embassy.

If it is what I think it is, that's for a 1CR which is a "true" immigrant as a K-1 is actually a non-immigrant visa with intent to immigrate. Just ignore and follow your Embassy's instructions. Congrats.

Ignore everything on the CEAC status update EXCEPT:

1) The actual status (at NVC, in Transit or Ready)

2) The dates that change beneath the status update that let you know you have movement on your case/your case has been "touched".

Everything else does NOT apply to the K1 process.

Hi Everyone! :)

I received an approval on 06/19 and called NVC today but was told it's not on their system yet, I've also sent them an email.

As I was reading Hank's website, It says once I get the NVC letter scan or email it to my fiance. Do they actually mail an NVC letter? What do I do if they just give me a #?

Thank you!!!

You may or may not get an email for a month or so. The point that I and Hank have been trying to get across to those who are processing through USEM Manila, Philippines is get your number and follow the instructions in Hanks website and the information that I gave you for the checklist of documents needed for the interview. Don't wait for anything from NVC as it will show up in a few weeks or at least a month and you DO NOT need the NVC letter for anything till you do your AOS after marriage. That's where if you follow our direction we help you shave off a month of waiting for the NVC letter.

Trust the PROCESS.

Just called NVC and they said they have received my file at NVC but now have to wait for the case number to be assigned. Quick question does anyone know how can I see the documents requirements for Islamabad Pakistan embassy to make sure I have all the documents. Regards

Go up to the blue ribbon at the top of the page and select "portals". Find your Embassy and there sit your answer. Other place is your sub-forum. Top of the page again and then select "forums" and then scroll down 3/4 of the page and look for your country or your region and join that thread. Lots of people there who have the answers your looking for.

I noticed some people saying that although they called NVC and obtained their case number that NVC informed them that they must wait for the email before they can pay the DS160 fee?  I'm not sure that makes sense to me.  What is the point of calling them for the number if we still have to wait to move forward?  Anyone know or did I misunderstand?

There is no DS-160 FEE. There is a DS-160 form AND there is a interview fee.  You can complete the DS-160 anytime up to the day before  your interview.

Early on I have told some people based on their Embassy that if they called NVC and get their case number then they can use it to start the process in their country. In particular I have consoled those in the Philippines because it works there. Others have taken upon themselves to advertise this is a possibility for other country's but that is not true. So we tell them to get a copy of the P3 for their Embassy and see what the directions state. Some you can use this method other's you can't. China is one I know off the top of my head that doesn't allow you but there are others.

Here is instructions for Jamaica Embassy

Go to: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-jm/iv/information/iv_overview - first you have to create a profile. If you haven't done so already, the beneficiary needs to complete the DS-160, upload a passport pic, e-sign and submit it. MAKE SURE TO PRINT A COPY OF THE CONFIRMATION PAGE - YOU WILL NEED IT FOR THE MEDICAL AND INTERVIEW (I would recommend printing at least 2 copies just to have a spare or even more). If you (the beneficiary) do not have the confirmation page with you during the medical exam and interview you will not be able complete the medical or interview.

After you are done with the DS-160 and creating your profile the website approve, follow the steps to schedule your interview (interview has to be scheduled first before the medical exam - only required for Jamaica). After you paid the visa fee, and scheduled the interview, make sure to print the interview confirmation as you will also need this to take with you to the medical exam and interview. If the interview date is too close for you to get everything completed, email the embassy to change the date. Keep in mind the calendar gets filled up fast and your interview has to be at least 10 before the medical exam. If you have an immunization card/record, bring that with you so that they know what vaccines/shots to give or not give. If you don't have it, that's fine, just be prepared to pay for all the required vaccines during the medical exam.

Once you have done this, go to http://www.andrewsmemorialhospital.com/ - and click on U.S. Medical Exam to schedule your medical exam. They will ask you for your interview date. Fill out the form online and submit. St. Andrews will send an email with your medical exam appointment date and time (they will schedule it based on your interview date at least 7-10 before). If you feel like you don't have enough time between the interview date and medical, you will have to call them to change the date; however, remember that your medical exam has to be completed at least 10 days before your interview so if you change the medical exam and it's not 10 prior to the interview date, you will have to change the interview date (see above)

You (the beneficiary) have to apply for your police record at your local police/government building (typically you can go to the one in Montego Bay - http://www.mns.gov.jm/content/how-obtain-police-record). You have to get the certificate of non-impediment at the RGD building in Montego Bay. The fast you want these forms the more expensive it cost. You have to have an original and certified copy of your Birth Certificate. You have to have your passport which is not due to expire at least 6 months.

The petitioner (US Citizen) must provide a complete  I-134 along with supporting financial documents since they will be sponsoring you - you can go to the USCIS.gov to get that information.

Letters of Intent must be updated and signed with a closer date to the interview on the letter. And you must have updated proof of ongoing relationship.

Hello everybody, thank you @Mike & Tanja for suggesting this group. So i called NVC yesterday to ask on why we didn't receive any notification or email from them since we got our case number last june 28th via phone call. And she told me that they dont have any particular days on how long would take them to send our papers to hong kong. She just gave me the invoice number, which i cant use right now because Hong Kong police wont give me certificate of no criminal record unless i show them a printed copy of email fom nvc or packet 3. So basically im stock right now, and cant do anything because of lack of requirement.

Just to share, I’m a bit upset 😢

our NOA 2 was 13 June my fiancé called NVC on;

2 July (Mon) good news they just got our case,

3 July (Tue) as part of the process before giving the case number the rep asked for our info and had informed us in their system my dob is not correct :(.

We checked the copy of I-129F & G-325A I filled the correct dates. We already sent to NVC the copy of my passport and also my birth certificate. Hope this will not make the waiting process longer.

Hi Lena,

I am also from Russia.

Could you tell me please, with just NVC number were you able to pay for interview fees and fill out DS 160 even before NVC sends docs to the embassy?

Thanks

NOA2 is 6/16, NVC told me they received my case just today and allow up to 8 weeks to get case number only LOL. WOW!!!

Yeah they told that to my fiance too. But don't listen to that. It only take 3 weeks max 4 to get a case number from NOA2 till NVC. We are on day 16 since our NOA2 and nothing yet. USCIS did not yet send our docs.

Hi!

I did, kind of. I completed ds160 and paid the fee, but then there is a mistake there and they send you a message saying that they don't have your case and therefore they can't schedule an interview. So I am just waiting at this point..

What are your dates? Did you do the medical already?
