I had my interview in Houston on Friday 5/31 at 730am.  I got there at 7am checked in and was asked to wait.  My name was called at around 8am and I met the officer who walked me back to her office.  I was asked to remain standing and pledge that I will only speak the truth.

Once that was complete, the officer went right into civics questions.  I got the first 6 correct (questions included: which ocean is to the east of US,  who is the commander in Chief, which month do we vote for the president,  name two rights in Declaration of Independence, what is the capital of us and which territory did the us purchase from France).  She then went on to test my English reading and writing skills - which was pretty straightforward.  She made notes on her screen and then asked me if I was current on taxes and if my address has changed.   In my case, there were no changes at all.  Then she went through the Yes/No questions and told me that I have passed the test and she will approve my N400 case.  She gave me two documents, one that indicated that I had passed and second that had details about oath ceremony.  At the time the officer did not commit to the oath ceremony date.  She mentioned that it could be between a month or three before it happens.  I then got up, shook her hands and thanked her.  She escorted me out of her office and I was done.

On the egov and my Uscis website, the status of my case had changed to Oath will be scheduled.  I hope that I can get into the June 19th ceremony.  If not it will be July.

I will keep my status posted on here as I go through the final stage gate.  I also thank folks for sharing their stories and making it easier for people going through the naturalization process.

Also, if someone can update my timeline, I’d be grateful.  Interview complete on May 31, 2019.  Oath TBD.

Good luck everyone!!!

Congratulations! I bet you feel better knowing it’s just one more hurdle. Our wait time expired today. Instead of it saying “0 days,” it says what’s pictured below. 😐 Story of our uscis lives. 😫

My estimated case completion time was July 2019 then it changed the same as yours and estimated wait time to september 2019, 2 days after it changed to interview scheduled.. so my estimated case completion time was accurate, estimated wait time still says September 2019.

Good luck

We haven't tried to call.  I have imagined that the answer would be the same.  The phone line isn't exactly a pinnacle of accuracy.  😕

my hope is that the countdown ended on a Sunday, so they will fix it.  The stress of waiting is starting to take its toll, as I'm supposed to fly to Europe in 10 days.  :(

Trust me when I tell you I totally understand--I spend about 1/2 of the year on domestic and international trips for work/play and I was in the same situation of my clock running out, and then past, and I got the same message you did unfortunately. I went 2 months without an update past my est. case completion date (feb 2019) and got my notice April 29th. The good(?) news is, depending on the length of your trip, you can most likely go without worrying. I don't know about California, but in NYC the soonest you would have an interview is 4 weeks post letter (but most likely 5-6). If you don't get a letter in the next couple of days, and if your trip is shorter than a month, you should go, and enjoy yourself. I did the same, and on the last day of my trip I got a status update!

I know this process is scary, and truly bone-tiring, but everything will turn out to your advantage in the end. Just keep repeating that to yourself, and make yourself check your account only once a week. I ended up having to do that or I was gonna go completely postal. Sending you all the support/fast letter vibes!

Had my interview on May 29. Was told "A decision cannot yet be made". Anyone else in the same boat on this thread? I googled this and found some people got notification for the oath ceremony a few days or even hours after the interview. Others had to struggle 2 years with the help of a Senator.

I applied under the 4 years + 1 day rule since I had a re-entry permit and was out of the country. I doubled-checked and I am 100% sure that I meet both the physical presence test and the continuous residency test. But the interview officer didn't seem to know the rules very well. I had to mention the 4 years + 1 day rule and even then she seemed unfamiliar with it.

All,

Today there was a significant status change on the egov site for my case to "Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed" .  Myuscis website has not updated yet and the notice is not available.  It is now a waiting game to find out if I am scheduled to go in for oath in June or July.

Oath scheduled for July 10

I had my interview yesterday, and was recommended for approval! I was seen almost an hour past my appointment time, and my IO was so nice! We started with the tests "just to get them out of the way" my  IO said, and then we reviewed my application together. I've had a ton of trips in the year since I applied, so after going through all of the yes/no questions, we updated that part of my application. I'd written out all of my trips, the countries I visited, the dates, and the days I was gone. She really appreciated that I came to the interview with that prepared to give her, and I'd recommend anyone else to do the same. After I signed everything, she gave me the paper congratulating me, and told me I was recommended for approval. The whole thing was not more than 20 minutes. I wasn't asked for tax info, although I had it with me. Ultimately I just gave her my green card, passport, and updated trip information. Such a relief to be through the process, and about an hour after my interview I received a notification that I was placed in line for the oath ceremony. This morning I got an update saying my oath was scheduled!
