Thanks!  I have my IOE already too (online)!  Waiting for my new extension letter as well.  Hoping the N400 will be complete by the time that expires.  I think my local field office is Mount Laurel, NJ.

Yeah, I hope so too however, my cases indicates that N400 will be completed in 13 months (July 2019). I have no choice but to wait :) As long as I receive the extension letter, I'm good. I just something to prove that I am a legal resident here.

I don’t know if I should be worried or not , but N400 is showing completion date of January 2020. My GC expires in July 2019. I haven’t received biometric yet and don’t know if I should apply for GC renewal or not. Any input is appreciated??

Also, why is everyone uploading your taxes when it is not required in the process right now. I thought we can take those during interview.

Hello @WBFDO!! 

 

Your green card's expiration date is more than 6 months away and since you have a pending N-400 application, you are NOT required to file Form I-90. When your green card expires while the N-400 process is ongoing, you are eligible to visit your local CIS office to obtain an I-551 stamp in your passport evidencing your resident status for purposes of employment or international travel – and without proof that an I-90 was filed.  To obtain the stamp, you will have to show your expired green card, a valid passport, the N-400 processing receipt, and your CIS appointment letter. 

 

About the taxes, did you file your N-400 online? For online applications, there is an Evidence section where it asks for Tax Documents for the past 3 or 5 years. Sure, you can bring those during the interview if you did not submit yours at the time of application.

Hello Pau Pau,

I filed my N400 online. I thought the additional section is for any further explanation or additional evidence for some parts in the application. So, if I haven’t submitted these documents now is it going to delay the process. My estimated wait time is showing 29 days as of right now.

I was trying to get my biometric done before I go out of the country for a vacation. Any idea if rescheduling biometric delay the process.

There is no proof to substantiate that tax documents have any impact on processing times. If the officer wants to see it, he will ask for it in the Interview Letter.

 

As far as Biometrics is concerned, conventional wisdom says it does delay if you try to change the date. You could do a walk-in with the copy of appointment letter uploaded in your USCIS account (I did that)

The IRS website says transcripts arrive in 5 to 10 calendar days at the address they have on file for you. I am in CA and I received it in 10 days.

Just applied on 6/13 online. The tracker is saying estimated case completion in August 2019 and an estimated wait time of 2 months til background check is done.

There were two sections in the online application - the required and the additional.  Tax records were in the required section for me, I thought.  However, it is possible that the "required" documents vary depending on the nature of your application - I am applying under the 3 year rule based on marriage, and the tax returns show the mandatory 3 years married to a US citizen eligibility is met.  I had to upload several documents to support this eligibility (spouse's passport, marriage licence, divorce decree (if applicable), evidence of marriage like banking and insurance).  If my memory serves, I could not continue to the next section without uploading these.
