I'm a couple of months behind you guys. If you look at the spreadsheet in the case complete to interview thread, you can see that other people in Brazil usually have their interviews within about two months of the cc so something strange does seem to be happening in your case. I tried calling very early in the morning twice and I got through without even having to wait on hold, so if you can't get through to them today, try again tomorrow morning shortly after they open. I'd like to know what they tell you. Good luck!

yeah, I'm starting to feel worried about that =/. You're right, call them in the morning is the best time, since they're not that busy yet, If I can't talk to them today later, I'm definitely going to try tomorrow morning. I tried to find this spreadsheet for Rio de Janeiro timeline, but I wasnt abble to find it here. May you please send me the link for this thread? Thanks in advance, and good luck on your journey too! =)

Here is the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xbLl_8yDgHLeDaLnTrPdYc44J0sjPSFfYCKxlKx6uTY/edit#gid=0

Not a lot of Brazilians there but the three of us can add our data and help people who come after us. And don't worry too much. I am sure you will get your interview soon, and just be happy you are at the end of the NVC process instead of the beginning like me. :-) It's the home stretch!

UUUGHHHHH. I'm sorry. This sucks. I hope they see your note!

Thanks..... So stupid and frustrating, only reason why it screwed up in first place is because printer wouldn't print the correct version and 2nd version was done in a rush :/

I have a question for people who have already gotten their cc. I know that in the NVC process guidelines on VisaJourney (which seem to have been written a while ago), it says that even though the State Department clearly states that you do not need a translation for police certificates and birth certificates in certain cases (eg, if it is in the official language of the country where you'll have your interview), people get checklists for not having a translation. Has anyone recently gotten a checklist because they didn't translate these documents that are not required to be translated? Here's the text from the NVC website about the rule. I'd just like to avoid paying for unnecessary translations if this hasn't been an issue recently.

"All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which you are applying for a visa, must be accompanied by certified translations." https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-5-collect-supporting-documents.html

I didn't translated my police records or birth certificate as well and I got my cc complete without any checklist. I have not seem anyone from Brazil getting a checklist for don't translate those docs... however, I've seem that some people after get their cc and interview date, were requested to translate some docs and  bring them to the interview. I don't know the reason why, but it happens sometimes.

Maybe you can also call NVC to let them know you made this change? It's worth trying.

I didn't get a check list because of translation. It was good! But you need 2 police certificate (or more, if you lived in more than one state over 6 months): 1 for the state (or more, if applies) + 1 Federal.

I got a check list because I just uploaded a state (Bahia) one. Also, add as additional W2 form for your partner, they asked this as extra... if you have it ready you will be good for a faster CC. :)

Thanks. Yes, I knew about the two police certificates. :-)

Thanks, I did indeed after getting off plane. Twice in fact. Basically told to wait for checklist which is ridiculous, but what I'm really worried about now is that they say the upload date shows as today so I'm not sure if I've effectively reset my wait counter for cc without the checklist, which opens the chance that we'll still get a checklist weeks later anyways.

I swear, if my spouse hadn't signed a lease in US already, I'd be saying let's give up and just stay in Canada. In fact, thoughts of that possibility are definitely entering my mind more and more now as this drags on.

My NVC receive date was 5/3. I called today for the first time after calling to confirm my case had been received. I chose option 7 when I called and after waiting for half hour was told to call back at choose option 5 because this case was an electronic processing case (PIVOT, which i knew) and they could not look up the details. So i called back, chose option 5 and waited for another half hour. The second person told me that an Invoice number had been assigned which he gave me over the phone but a case number had not been assigned (invoice number starting with ivsca...). I asked how much more should I wait and his response was that this case would be "overdue" on June 29th. So I asked does that mean I should expect case number between now and 29th and he said if "I dont get a case number by 29th I should call". He did ask me to verify the usual things about beneficiaries and petitioner's name and beneficiaries date of birth before giving me the Invoice number

Is that what everybody's experience is with pivot cases? Invoice is assigned first and then the case number takes another few weeks? I  think I remember reading somewhere in the forums here that it the other way around where people got the case number first and the Invoice number after?

four of us ;)

We're approaching a month of waiting for CC; but no checklist yet, so hopefully it'll come soon. FYI we translated all of my wife's documents just to be safe and had a lawyer review everything (for whatever that's worth...).   Hoping to get CC and interview assigned for August! (or July would be even better, however unlikely)
