Hello,I try to fill out DS 261and 260 but I get confused who is principle applicant is it me or my wife oversees ,I am at usa have citizenship I am applying for my wife to get CR1 visa to come to usa.also,if I choose agent do I need to my wife email and mail address or just mine because she moving next month.thanks

Your wife the beneficiary is the Principal Applicant. You the petitioner should be the choice of agent and  fill her details anywhere it ask for the beneficiary/principal applicant email/mail address.

Have you paid both fees?

Principal applicant is surely your wife for whom you are applying the visa..You can choose yourself as the Agent. You can give your details ..But whoever you choose an agent it basically doesn't matter in the later stage as NVC will notify everything to the both Petitioner and the beneficiary.

you can reduce quality of scan to add more papers in single file.

for affidavit of support form you can e sign directly on form. it created small file compare to scan version.

for previous year taxes you can do transcript from IRS web site. you dont need w2 if it is tax transcript.

The instructions do say you don't need to include the W2 if you send the tax transcript, but even so NVC has asked some people to submit the W2 even when they submitted the transcript (more info about this in the NVC filers thread), so I recommend including it just to be safe.

so I've been reading allot of posts saying if ( https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx ) websites says. your case status as "At NVC" that means you have a case complete!?

so one of my documents, my wife's affidavit of support was rejected due to our lawyer's mistake . she was suppose to upload it under affidavit section instead she uploaded that under different category. so NVC asked to delete and re upload it. NVC kept sending us reminders for over a week  for that. lawyer was too lazy to do so. she finally uploaded  after one week.  since then it's been 10 days and it still shows submitted and not accepted or otherwise.

my question is when i checked at above mentioned website . it says case status At NVC. so does that mean i've a case complete?

my wife called NVC. some lady answered and told your document is not accepted/reviewed yet. so you've to wait till it is accepted to get a case complete. if anybody had the same experience. please share with me. i'd like to know how long they had to wait for there interview day/ CC. Thanks.

For most people "At NVC" meant that they had a cc but there were some exceptions. It seems like after there is a problem with an application, in can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a month for the cc, but I suspect it will take about two weeks, based on comments of other people. There is another thread called "case complete to interview July 2018" and there is a spreadsheet there where people input their cc date and their interview date, so you can see what is typical in your country. For most people, the interview is about two months after the cc. Good luck!

Same thing happened with me. When I checked my status, it said 'at NVC' and I thought it's a CC but when I logged into CEAC website, some of my docs were rejected so I had to upload the correct docs. The status still says, 'at NVC'.

if your DS260 is disappeared on CECA website that's means case is complete. even after your case is complete it will show at NVC till they schedule your interview and send documents to respective consulate in your country.

The only reliable way to tell CC is to get email or snail mail from NVC that says they will now schedule your interview. AT NVC just means you submitted docs and someone from NVC at least reviewed them once.

I don't know who started AT NVC = CC rumor, but it isn't true.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the 2018 Waiting Games.

Alright, So, Status As being At NVC is just a wild guess and a self feeding hope that it could be complete. just keep waiting another month, as everybody is getting there visa interview scheduled about one month later and when that one month passes, As always, then will call to NVC, NVC  ask your case number etc . An agent looks at the case file and if you mention how long it has been since they have received the documents and you haven't heared anything from them. NVC agent realise at that point oh we almost forgot about this case as so many others. let's check there documents, At that day if they see those documents are acceptable they accept them and give you a CC at that exact day. then you hear that good news via email/snail mail or via calling NVC. after that another wait starts which is to be scheduled for visa interview .

that's what i understood about this process since over 7 months with NVC<_<

We had the same story. I was so happy to see At NVC words, but at the same time we received an email requiring to submit some extra documents. It was on June 4. Only when those AOS files showed as Accepted we got an email saying we are on line for the interview date. It happened on June 21. Anyway it's different for different people. Some ones got CC just after they resubmitted the docs. Hopefully you'll get your email with CC very fast!

ABK are you going through a lawyer or doing it yourself? my lawyer is giving me a headache. she is from a renowned institute but kept doing so mistakes. it set me back several months. if i compare myself with others who got there case completed in December 2017.

I completely agree with you!

my documents have been rejected twice , because of lawyers mistakes some were also accepted at the same time. but luckily NVC just asked for those exact documents to delete and re upload them. i sent my documents at the end of april.
