Hang in there! Since it has been only 4 business days, it will take a few more. It will take at least 6-10 business for non-pivot cases. But you should get your interview somewhere in mid of July or at least end of July.

If the reason is valid enough,NVC approves expedite and skips all NVC process and send our file to our embassy and we have to submit everything at the interview.i think we can make appointment by ourself just like k1 visa or by contacting embassy. I think @Beast8 might be helpful to him.

Hy Nitha

Yeah we have scheuled our interview by ourself.

Islamabad consulate toLd us to schdule interview by our own and bring all the documents and fees that were required at NVC stage and it was skipped.

We schedule date 20 June 2018.

NVC received our info from USCIS on 5/11, so now I am waiting on NVC case number. My lawyer, who has been wrong about time lines throughout, believes that we will most likely get a case number within a week. I don't believe that, because from what I am seeing on the forums, it appears people are getting their case number around 8 weeks... but maybe I am just selectively seeing those who are getting to 8 weeks.

For those of you that had received your NVC case number in the past two months, how many weeks did it take for you to get a case number (from when NVC received info from USCIS)? Is 8 weeks the new norm?

If its non pivot than 8 weeks and for pivot case it could take upto 10 weeks. I am waiting for last 5 weeks. Lawyer probably dreaming about few years back.

Hey there...

I'm specifically referring to the IV package in the following question... Did you only send the documents as described on the website or did you send anything extra?

For example. On the DS-260 they ask about previous visas. Should I only send the copy of the Biometric page of my passport or should I add a copy of my US B2 visa?

If you sent extra documents - what did you send?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there!

In the Document Cover Sheet you were sent, there's an option for 'Other Supporting Documents' at the bottom. If you wish to send anything not specifically requested, tick this box. Then in your cover letter, list the extra documentation and explain why you have included it.

Unfortunately I didn't have any previous visas (our countries have a visa waiver agreement) so I didn't answer Yes for that question in the DS-260. So I'm not sure what you should do. If you include a copy of your visa it won't hurt your application, though. Just be sure to tick that box on the Cover Sheet and explain why you sent it.

Best of luck :)

CONGRats,

we uploaded everything on May 17th, no news yet. How did yiu find out about your cc? Ours is pivot

Hi there,

I think PIVOTs take a different amount of time to non-PIVOTs. Ours was a non-PIVOT.

We phoned NVC and that's how we found out that we got a CC. I think they're now also sending out emails to confirm CCs? But we haven't received one yet.

I hope your get your Case Complete very soon! :)

Hey Fellow NVC Filers,

I'm glad I'm not the only one getting anxious at this point. It's seriously screwed up my sleep cycle.

We are:

NOA 1: 09/29 via TSC

NOA 2: 04/18

NVC Received: 05/16

And we're Pivot/CEac. I know from last months group that most couples were saying from NOA2 - Interview is around 5 months. These are probably the longest months ever. 😢

NVC recieved case 04/20. I spoke with someone on the phone they told me that I was a pivot case and said to allow up to 8 weeks for a case number, which would be 06/15. 2 weeks to go, let’s see if we receive a case number!

Hi VJ folk!

We sent off our financial and civil documents to NVC on May 21 after paying all our fees and such and completing the DS-260 etc. By the way, we're not a Pivot case.

I (the petitioner) just called up the NVC today June 1st (I also emailed last night) to see if they had received our case and what the status was. (As when we look online, it says 'at NVC' which is most likely a case clear but could be a checklist).  Spoke with a kind man named Felix and he told me that our  scan date/received date was May 22nd and our case was marked complete on May 29th! So that was only 5 business days!!!

Now we're just awaiting the interview to be scheduled which would come via email. :jest:

Best advice I can give to those preparing documents is be thorough in your documentation and be extremely organized! As someone who works in bureaucracy, make it easy for the person reviewing your case by having everything organized. (I labeled everything per its proper set of documents, paper clipped items together that should be together, wrote case numbers on every page, priority mailed the documents with a tracking number for peace of mind and quick delivery).

Good luck to everyone waiting and preparing!

Great advice thanks a lot.

I am the petioner for my parents, Can you tell me if my parents birth cerificate from Ecuador needs to be apostille and translate please?

Hi guys,

NVC received our case May 1st then husband called last Friday and was told that they are already doing “quality checks” on our case and soon we’ll be receiving our case number.. I wonder what that means.. but knowing that we’ve been getting the run around with this whole process, maybe it meant Nothing really but basically wait and wait some more 😅

While waiting for NVC to assign me a case number,  I noticed that my IRS transcripts for 2017 just became available. I am assuming that now I can just send tax transcripts for 2017, 2016 and 2015. No need to send them 1040 with all attachments and a copy of W2. Is that correct?

Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the 2018 Waiting Games.
