Hi! Has anyone had any luck in changing interview locations? When we submitted our I-130 (back in March of 2017) we were living in Abu Dhabi. We moved to the UK in October and I have been trying to change it ever since, via email and phone, but our case number was still assigned to Abu Dhabi. Called NVC and they said if it’s not changed by the time we get a CC then it will be sent to Abu Dhabi and we would have to contact the London embassy and ask them to contact the Abu Dhabi Embassy to ask them to send the file to London, which sounds like would cause further delays of this already terribly long process. Anyone know the secret to getting NVC to change Embassy?

Yes we had to change our embassy from Prague to Frankfurt.

We emailed them with proof that the beneficiary could legally stay in German (scan of his visa) and explained the whole deal. They changed it in 2 days. Have they responded to your emails? At the end of the email, ask for confirmation of change if you weren't before.

Thanks for the info! How long ago did you do this and which email address did you send to? Did your case number change when it happened?

Hi Guys!

I think we have a CC here!!!:jest::jest::jest:

My visa is a bit different than yours (I'm IB1, so I am both the applicant and petitioner), but on NVC stage we're having similar timelines, that's why I'm writing here.

I just called NVC and my CC was yesterday. I am very surprised because since they received my documents there have been only 5 days (4 business days)! But I didn't get any e-mail with an interview date yet.

Do you have any idea how much time from CC to interview I would need to wait? I'm going to be interviewed in Warsaw, Poland.

So far (non-pivot case) my timeline looks like this:

USCIS approved I-824: January 23,  2018

NVC case number: May 10, 2018

DS-260 submitted and IV package received: June 7, 2018

CC: June 12, 2018

Thank you and I wish SO MUCH luck to each and every one of you!!! May this journey be as fast and nonproblematic as possible to all of us!!!

I got teased by the NVC this morning. I woke up, and lo and behold, an email from the NVC. I was so excited, I thought it was the interview email telling me when the interview will be. But alas, it was just a generic CC email (I got CC last week). Generally, to my understanding, Non-Pivot does not receive the CC e-mail. Thus, the waiting game continues......

Hi all,

firstly, big congrats to those who have had cases complete! Delighted for you all!

secondly, I wanted to know how long I should wait after submitting documents before I call NVC to see what’s going on? Pivot case.

thanks!

Wow, that's amazing speed. I have filed for EB visa as well, hope my CC will arrive equally quickly.

Re interview dates: usually NVC starts assigning interviews at the end of each month, around or after 25th day. The availability of dates heavily depend on the embassy load: e.g. Brazilians usually wait for 2+ months but most Europeans get their interviews within a few weeks after approval.

So I would say you are likely to get an appointment scheduled for August within the next 2 weeks.
