If I were you I would only submit assets, if income is not enough to support the beneficiary or if it is very close to the poverty guidelines.

and yes if you say  you have money in the bank you will need to show/include bank statements.

My salary is more than sufficient to meet the requirement. the assets i was going to submit just as extras. decided against it. I thought i dont want nvc going through 12 months of checking/savings account records and sending me rfe's and delaying things more lol

Good idea. Less is more.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the 2018 Waiting Games.

so i am working to finish the online submissions of documents and came up with some questions

1: It says "photos" under the applicant's civil documents? What am i uploading here? Passport photos?

2: It says to upload police certificate but their documentation says police certificates are not required for Pakistan. I have a police certificate anyway. Should I go ahead and upload it.

3: Petitioner previous marriage termination: Where do i upload this document? On the IV application there is an option in the drop down and there is an option on the AOS side as well.

4: I have trip itineraries and records of the 6 trips i have made over the past year for marriage and after and want to upload these in civil docs. I guess i am choosing "other" as document type?

5: Photos of me and wife together. I don't know where to upload this and how given the strict 2 mb file size requirement. Any ideas or should i just skip it and bring them along with me to the interview

6: Applicant's education records. Should i submit these in pdf given i filled out her education records in DS260?

thanks

1. I uploaded passport pic in photos and then attached a couple of family pics in the  additional section below.

2. Upload it. If it's not required, you are good. If it is required, you will avoid checklist.

3. IV application. Only provide financial docs in AOS section.

4. Not needed. I just provided the dates my wife stayed in the US.

5. See my response for 1. Compress photo file and upload only one pic at a time. You can repeat and attach multiple pics. Dont over do it. A couple of pics should be enough.

6. Not needed. She can take it to the interview. It's a spouse Visa. They don't care about education much. It's there only for completeness sake IMO.

I didn't create a document for it. DS260 has a section that ask for your last 5 visits to US. That's all I filled. Keep in mind NVC is not visa interview. It is just checking to make sure you have everything (documents) you need to qualify for Visa. Personally, my moto is to give them exactly what they are asking for, nothing more, nothing less. Keep it simple.  If councelor really wants to see the dates, the stamps are entered in my wife passport and she will have that with her at the visa interview.

Also try to provide docs only in PDF and JPEG format. I am not sure if NVC will even open an excel file.

So last Friday, I hit the 8th week mark, was told to call back the following Monday. Monday came and I was told the same thing. Yesterday, the agent asked me some info like mine and beneficiary's DOB and residence and stuff. The lady told me she just typed in my info in the system and my case number was ready to be generated. I should expect an email before the week ends. Should I be hopeful now?

Yea.. your almost there

So I just sent in the files without the trip history. The last five visits section did not apply to me. I plan to be at the interview myself to accompany my wife for her interview. I have them printed out and will bring along with me as extra proof if they need it at the interview. I mostly stuck to the required docs. Submitted previous divorce agreement which was sort of required for me and photos as extras. The photos i put together three on a page in a pdf file. About 10-15 total and then shrunk the file size and submitted that the pdf as a single file. thank you for your help again. I hope it goes well and quick and i don't run into checklists...Another wait begins

So you are trying to attach trip details for you and not your wife? Is that why it doesn't apply to you? I went to NL twice since we got married and I didn't include any of those details in any of my documents.  I think all of it will be needed at the interview, but not really required or asked by NVC, but I am not an attorney, so if you feel like sending it in, go for it.

Pics: I included 4 pics. Each as JPEG one per file.

Yeah. It was for my trips to visit my wife. Thought it would help but I will just bring them along with me to the interview. Already submitted the docs...Now waiting. About the pics, i was just able to figure out a way to consolidate them into a pdf and then shrink it so just submitted 10-15 in the same file...
