No, no. Please keep us updated. Awesome news for you  and you are right, NVC is extremely unpredictable. I’ve been waiting for a CC since May 30th. There’s always hope!

These things must be so personal to the specific person reviewing the case. We accidentally submitted our joint sponsor's information twice, and then 2 copies of the petitioner's birth certificate (the first one was upside down) and they accepted every single document. The duplicates and upside-down birth certificate as well. But you get guff over something that you did correctly? 

 

The NVC has got to be one of the weirdest things in the US.

 

I hope it gets remedied really quickly for you!

Absolutely. I think it also doesn't help that my birth certificate is from a different country than my country of residence with the former non-pivot and the latter newly pivot. I assume that the pivot department had very limited exposure to that specific document.

Apparently, it can go from 2 hours to 2 months, everything depends...  but in most cases, 3 weeks I would say

Wait 6 weeks for NVC to receive your petition from USCIS.

 

Then wait 8 weeks for the NVC to assign you a case number.

 

Collect the documents you'll require to submit in the mean time  US w2's, US tax transcripts, birth cert, police certs etc..

Still awaiting case # here, I am at the 8 weeks. Called today and still no number so they escalated to a supervisor with another 6 week possible wait. Fingers crossed it comes in the next week or two.

Anybody happen to know if beneficiary country affects the time to get CC? I know there's a difference between pivot and non, but was wondering if all pivot cases go into the same pool.

pivot cases are when you can upload documents online instead of sending via mail (non pivot). Whether you are pivot or not depends on the beneficiary country
