Can someone help with DS-260 question.

Mailing address: Are they looking for mailing address in the US or beneficiary mailing address in their home country?

One of my documents is 6 MB in size after compression. I downloaded Adobe Acrobat and tried to make it smaller, but the quality gets so much worse, if I compress it more. I think I will have to split it in 3 files and submit them as part 1, part 2 and part 3.

Example:

  • Part1_MyDocument.pdf
  • Part2_MyDocument.pdf
  • Part3_MyDocument.pdf

According to NVC, it should be OK, but I am scared that this will delay the reivew process.

Yup. But one good thing is they are moving a lot faster than pivot cases so count yourself lucky!

Yes completely normal; it'll say that until you get a cc. All we can do is wait :pop:

Ok..but I’m currently living in Colombia (I’m from Italy) and the mailing system here is badddd. Can my lawyer send and receive docs on my behalf? As I did with NOA2 ?

Hello,

I scanned my documents at lower DPI that helped to keep file size less than 2MB.

The wait beings, the wait at  NVC is crazy. When you call them they tell you up to 8 weeks already sat and wait how man months for immigration then they tell you wait almost 2 months for an case and invoice number. It’s ok thou on my third week so hopefully by 1 week of July I get my case and invoice number.

I tried. It's a 20 pages long document and just doesn't get smaller than 2 MB. I will upload the docs in three parts and provide my explanation in the comments. I don't think there is another option for me to make it smaller and yet keep it legible.

Does NVC process cases base on the received date ?

Yes they do assign case number on the basis of the date on which they have received your case ..It does take up to 8weeks .sometimes less or more.Hopefully by next week you will get your case number.

I feel like they probably can send most of them but you or your spouse have to sign a couple of the papers(like the i-184) and you have to send in the original:(

Our case was received by NVC on April 25th and we still have no case number 😓 we are out of Morocco, does anyone know if we are a pivot or non pivot? Could this be part of the delay?

Non pivot. Expect a case number anytime soon. Presently, non pivot cases are taking up to 8weeks to get a case and invoice number.

Try to compress each file individually (https://www.ilovepdf.com/compress_pdf) and then you can try combine everything in one file (http://combinepdf.com/). Good luck :)

Doesn't Matter.Even it Happened with me.I was so worried when I found people getting case numbers even after having later received date than mine.So it is quite normal.you wait till the week 8.You will get it soon.Don't forget to call the NVC at least twice or thrice in a week.
