For non-pivot cases, once the IV fee shows as 'PAID' and I fill out the DS-260 can I mail my IV&AOS packages or do I need to wait for some sort of an approval?

You can send the package once payment showed paid. Even you can send before.

I called NVC today and the agent asked for our names and date of birth. He said they have an invoice number but not a case number yet. I was so excited I didn't even ask for the number.

PIVOT CASE

NOA 1: 10/24/18

NOA 2: 04/25/18

NVC received: 5/10/18

Hey everyone,

I was confused about what the "Petitioner's Civil Documents" item on our checklist was, and I think I found an answer on the USDOS website:

Quote

Petitioner Documents

If you are applying for an IR5 visa as the parent of a U.S. citizen or for an F4 visa as the brother or sister of a U.S. citizen:  You must obtain an original birth certificate for your petitioner, or a certified copy.

  • Send a photocopy of your petitioner's birth certificate to NVC.
  • Bring the original petitioner’s birth certificate plus a photocopy to your visa interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

If you are applying for an IR1, CR1, or F2A visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident and your petitioning spouse was previously married:  You must obtain evidence of the termination of EVERY prior marriage your petitioning spouse has had. This evidence must be an original or certified copy of one of the following documents:  FINAL legal divorce decree, death certificate, or annulment papers.

  • Send a photocopy of the petitioner’s marriage termination document(s) to NVC.
  • Bring the original petitioner’s termination document(s) plus a photocopy to your visa interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

For country-specific guidelines on how to obtain acceptable birth certificates and marriage termination documents, use the Document Finder above.

Summary:

My understanding is that this item is only for petitioners who have been previously married, and you can mark 'Not Applicable' for this item if the petitioner has no previous marriages.

If I'm wrong, please let me know and I will update this post!

Otherwise, I thought I would post this in case anyone else gets confused like I did!

For non-pivot cases do I need to mail the original I-864 or send a copy and bring the original to the interview?

What about IRS reports and W-2s?

Mail a copy along with other docs to nvc while the beneficiary brings the original to the interview.

Can someone help with DS-260 question.

Mailing address: Are they looking for mailing address in the US or beneficiary mailing address in their home country?

Follow up question.

I uploaded AOS and supporting docs, but I don't see any supporting docs for beneficiary. Do they become available after we submit DS-260?
