When the supervisor is envolved with the case .can he expedite the date of interview too????

I not too sure they would expedite the interview. I don't think so. They have elevated it to the supervisor so you get your case number and have everything in the system but interview scheduling wouldn't be expedited. Unfortunately you would get into interview scheduling line once your case is complete.

Expediting an interview is at the mercy of your embassy once they do schedule.

Fellow Nigerian,

You don't need an updated Police Character Certificate because for immigration purpose, the PCC is valid for one calender year. Just take the original copy  with other supporting docs along with you to the embassy for your interview.

Having problems with the i864 i am sponsering my wife and following the instructions on the form i have no joint sponser but it keeps calculating my household size as 3. 1 for myself and 2 for my spouse should i leave one of them blank or at zero on the form? Or is this how it is supposed to be.

Only count your wife once. In the block that says married or single put "0". That block is only relevant if you are sponsoring someone other than your spouse. I ran into the same problem when my husband was filling it out for me.

NVC received my case on April 5. Today (6/1) is  8th week + 1 day, still waiting for the case number. They said they made a note for Supervisor. How long does it take to get the case number when Supervisor sees the case? I'm from Nepal I think it is non-pivot and it is CR1 for my wife, I'm a US citizen.

DS 260 is the first one. That is the choice of agent. Then after they review it they will open the iv fee and when that clear they will open aos fee. There is like few days in between for processing.

the ds-261 is actually the choice of agent which is the first one. the ds 260 is what is opened after the IV fee is cleared

I've seen people waiting 20 business days +.. I'm currently on business day 8:mellow:

Pivot case, we're on BD 19, no news. called a few times in the past week or so, same message every time - currently it's taking 6 weeks to process and they cannot provide any updates until the case has been reviewed.

U can expedite the interview by mailing the NVC with valid reason.

I think the embassy has a final say in reviewing and approving. Sometimes NVC approves but if the reason isn't valid or if embassy cannot find earlier dates, they can refuse.
