Hi everyone, so after 8 weeks, I finally received the case number and invoice number two days ago over the phone. I was able to log in and filled out DS-261 form. However, I cannot make any payment or do anything else. so my question is "how long they will review my DS-261 and give me the bill".

Call them about the 261 and ask them to review over phone to expedite it. Someone please correct me if i am wrong about this suggestion...

You will have to wait until you get a letter or email from the with case and invoice number before you can pay any fee. On Phone is nice to have, but actual trigger is email or actual postal mail.

He/She already has those. They were able to login to fill out DS261....Its just that the payment buttons are disabled and they cant pay fees. Which is because their DS261 needs to be reviewed/approved. I had read somewhere you could get that done over phone by calling them asking them to review it over phone. See below...

Yeah. Calling them won't hurt. My guess is that he/she will have to wait for an email from NVC before any fee becomes available. DS261 is a weird form; apparently, not even needed in Pivot cases.

@nnguye2208I just called NVC today and asked if reviewing DS261 over the phone is really needed. The agent said, "not really. But this makes opening the fees faster, max is 1 week. If not, it'll take 3 weeks to open." So I would definitely suggest to call them and insist to review it over the phone. It's like nothing gets done unless you call them or calling them makes it faster since they're actually doing something about your case.

I suffered that same agony as well. I called them last Friday as that is my exact 8th week mark. The agent was kind enough to offer to have my case forwarded to their supervisor. After the weekend, I called again on Monday and finally got my case and invoice number.

I suggest you go ahead and do the same. Try calling again on Mondat and if you still don't have a case number, ask for it to be forwarded to a supervisor. As I've mentioned earlier, nothing gets done unless you call and bug them.

That's what they told me too and I was really surprised, angry actually, and that the agent actually heard my disbelief. Imagine after 8 weeks and nothing was done! And then he kindly told me that he would forward it to his supervisor right at that moment. Then just after 2 days (weekend), I finally got my case number.

*I didn't mean to get mad at the agent but it was just really frustrating that I had to let it out.*

Hopefully you'll get yours soon.
