Sorry for the late review, needed time to bask in the euphoria of joy. I had my interview on the 14th of June 2018, it was slated for 6:45am, made it to the lagos consulate at about 6:31am. It was a long wait, All my original documents where given back because my lawyer mailed in original documents to the consulate through NVC, had my biometrics taken , swore an oath and then had the interview. Spent about 3hrs and couple of minutes before my interview was conducted, the interview lasted 5mins thereabouts.

Co: So your husband is calling you to the US

Me: Ans

Co: how did you meet

Me:Ans

Co: when did you meet

Me:Ans

Co: when did you get married

Me:Ans

Co: tell me about your husband

Me: Ans

Co: where does he work

Me: Ans

Co: what are his hobbies

Me: Ans

Co: Is that your son

Me:Ans

Co: Is he your husband's too

Me:Ans

Co: Can I see pictures of the three of you in it as well as pictures of just the two of them it

Me: (brings out huge photo albums)

Co: Woow!

Co: Can I see your wedding pictures

Co: Your visa has been approved ( hands over paper with instructions on how to get our passports and a paper stating my rights has a wife in the US).

Thank you visa journey for keeping me sane all through this process, the process is nerve wrecking but it's worth the wait. I wish others good luck with theirs, cheers!

Congrats..

Alas, we still don't have an interview date. Our case became "documentarily qualified" on April 27 and we were told that an interview would be scheduled.

CEAC shows our status as "at NVC." There's nothing that has the phrase "case complete."

I am wondering about others' experience. Did you actually get a "case complete" before receiving an interview appointment?

I am trying to troubleshoot this. Our lawyer seems to think that NVC is causing the delay and not the Athens Embassy. He says they usually have appointments available immediately. So am I not sure what is going on here...

I've called NVC multiple times and they insist that there's nothing wrong/ missing and that we just have to wait...

Thoughts?

Thank you all!!

Hello Friends,

i have a question regarding the Affidavit of Support. My uncle is providing support documents. My question is that do I only need his W2 form or do I also need his wife’s W2 forms as well?

Based on your question, your uncle's Tax filling was joint (H/W). He needs to fill up I 864 and her wife I 864w  They need to send both W2 (H/W) since the income was combined.

Hope this will help

Hey,

Thank you so much for your help. We did send in the 864 and 864w but i was unsure about the W2’s since I cannot find hers and don’t remember if I even sent her W2 forms. Thanks again, I will ask for them from her.

Thank you all!!

I called NVC last week. They told me they schedule interviews towards the end of the month. The US consultates overseas give them available time slots for the next month and they fill those in on first come first serve basis. If your embassy is not too busy or your case is not too late in the month, i.e., right after they have already scheduled interviews, you are likely going to get your interview the next month. If you they don't have a slot available next month for you, they will schedule your interview the following month. If nothing is available the following month, they will schedule your interview a month after that, so on and so forth.

Unfortuantely, NVC likes to keep things vague, so you won't know for sure until you receive an email from them with your interview date. All you can do is wait.

Yes it is 864a thank you! I do have the transcripts but not the W2 for her. Thank you so much for this information. The family is on vacation so was worried. Knowing that the transcripts will suffice helps alot!

Hello everyone!

Its been awhile since I logged in. I hope everyone's process is going smoothly.

My husbands interview is on Sunday June23. I would love to read questions asked in interview for couples who met online, or who have age difference, or who's from Pakistan or neighboring countries. Thanks!
