I'd love to see all sports stadiums require all employees to stop what they are doing to observe the Anthem. Is it not offensive for the hot dog stand to keep operating? I believe some sports do this (and perhaps some stadiums). NFL should at the very least make it mandatory. It's offensive (honestly i'd say far more offensive than taking a knee).

 

Kneeling during the national anthem is a disrespectful act to many including most in the military and law enforcement which makes up a large share of the NFL's viewers. Also last time I checked no one tunes into the football game to see what the hot dog vendor is doing. Other than a few people who may buy a hot dog at a game no one even sees the hot dog vendor nor are they a public representative of the NFL like a football player is. What the hot dog vendor does is largely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. What a football player does publicly while they are being paid by the NFL is very relevant to their bottom line.

What should be important for a football player on the field is to play the sport well.

 

Anything more is merely the result of overly dramatic snowflake types complaining about a non-issue because they want something to make a big deal about.

Agreed. That is why they should protest outside of their job, stand for the national anthem as is expected of them and play football. The NFL has finally come to their senses and realized allowing their employees to engage in offensive acts on company time and while representing the company is not good for business and has cost them viewers and has now implemented penalties for any of their employees that engage in the offensive act of kneeling for the national anthem. Most people tuning into a football game want to escape politics for a little bit.

I wonder if TV networks (if any) or Amazon/Netflix et. al. will pull the Cosby Show like was done with Roseanne.  Or the Dukes of Hazzard.  Or Last Man Standing.
