They asked for additional financial evidence for the I-864. We filed in August 2017 and between October-ish to December, I called to ask about the EAD. They told me to just keep waiting. January came and I finally emailed my senator. On Feb 1 (please see my signature for details on dates), they mailed the RFIE asking for more income evidence and/or paperwork for a joint sponsor. We realized WE had made a mistake regarding my husband's income. We originally thought he made enough but we had looked at the wrong numbers. He didn't make enough so we had to get a joint sponsor (husband's dad). After we sent all that, the EAD approval and combo card a month later. The reason they sent the RFIE at all though was because it had been so long since they originally received our case. They wanted to make sure we still qualified because a lot can change in six months. Hope this helps.

got emailed from USCIS telling me that they are requesting for initial evidence. but still don't know what are they requesting.. still waiting for their mail.

Oh well at least you got an update! Could be for anything....lost photocopy or they need more financial evidence for the i-864. Whatever it is, I suggest reaching out to the ombudsman after you respond and let them know you're waiting for your EAD.

Hi! i just received the mail from USCIS regarding with my RFIE for EAD.

They are saying that my name didn't matched and asking me for birth certificate, visa, passport and marriage certificate.

Just a little confused, did you attached the original yellow paper from USCIS or the photocopied?

And what's the difference with the mailing address? they have 2 mailing addresses.  as i;ve checked the USPS 1 is 2 day priority express mail and 1 is 2 day priority mail.. thanks

I sent the original letter with the response. But I made 2 photocopies of it beforehand to keep.

If you are using USPS, send it to the USPS address. "The "express mail" address on the letter is for FedEx/UPS (basically it is NOT for USPS).
