Honestly, I am so down about the waiting process.. I think my local office fort Myers based on the data issued is very very slow. I am so sad:(

this is ridiculous to wait a year to get a green card. I see people from February waits 150 days for work permits. This is all crazy that some people have interview less than three months and others have to wait even a year. I wish I can move to places where they process cases faster ..

We are at NBC still, but probably it will move to Montgomery FO soon, they have 2443 pending applications since DEC/2018....our is gonna take a long time also. Cheer up...we all on the same K-1 boat.

ironically the driving licence is valid until july 29th, the 90 day that i am officially allowed to be in country with the K1.....

so the lady at the dmv said to come back 1 week prior that 29th, to check if the status has been adjusted from uscis,

meaning they could temporary put another 6 months on it, otherwise i'll have to re-do it once i got my GC

now the lady at uscis said that i should have neeeever been able to get that DL...?

well how else am i supposed to drive around if my international DL is apparentely only valid for 90 days?

anyways - fun experience... no surprise though

wish we where so lucky....we are heading to Panama City Beach in August to enjoy the Gulf Sun...and i have to drive  all the way there 6 hours

The Gulf is always a good option. We took a room at a beachfront property. Not even have to cross the street! 3 days there and then Detroit, Michigan to visit some of the wife's friends. Yeah....EAD would have been nice by October. Gotta start learning some денег. My version of russian. Lol. Looks Cyrillic not in Russian 😁

Had my biometrics appointment this morning at 8:00 in Raleigh. Because I applied with my married name and my passport has my maiden name, I was taken aside to have my name verified. I had to wait about a half an hour for the contractor to arrive and set up. The actual name verification was very quick. Luckily, I brought my marriage certificate even though it wasn't asked for in the letter, so I'd suggest bringing that if you don't have any identification with your married name. The actual biometrics part afterwards was super quick.

@LizM we got biometrics done! and the wife also has her own secured credit card opened under her name. Yahoo. Co-mingled finances are ready, social security card at the mailbox, lease has her name also in it, some letters/postcards and official notifications for proof of address.... we are ready for ROC now (LMAO)!!! Proof of bonafide marriage is on the work.

Good job the two of you! :D I just signed up for renter's insurance and added my husband to it. I'm awaiting my health insurance card and for the month to end so I have my first bank statement. These will hopefully work as proofs of address, so after that I'm going to the DMV to try and at least get myself a state ID, if not a drivers license.

I'm getting one secured credit card and one secured loan but for the loan I've just not had the motivation to find the place with the lowest interest rate haha. And it matters because I think I would need to keep the loan active for at least six months. I really don't like loans for anything other than house/apt or studies, but I would like to have a decent credit score if we decide to move to a new place next year, so I think another line of credit might be a good idea for that reason.

A side note, my renter's insurance policy was pretty clear on the fact that it does not cover floods. In Sweden I would never care about this, but frankly NYC gets both bad weather and storms every now and then. Also we're not too far from the water, and we live on the bottom floor... Does anyone here have separate flood insurance?

Yay! We received email and text notifications today of our NOA1's for all three applications.  They arrived at the lockbox on 20 June, and the dates on NOA1 are saying "submitted date" 25 June.  Fingers crossed all goes smoothly.  We are in NY and the NOA's start with MSC, which seems to be the National Benefits Center...just wondering if that is common for all. We are applying for AoS from a K1.

I can finally say I've sent my AOS package! I tried to send it with FedEx but the guy said they don't deliver to government buildings as they don't have access, so I had no choice but to go through USPS. Hopefully it arrives safe, although I'll probably end up as July filer when I get my notices!

Can't wait for this to be finished!

Hi everyone! Glad everyone is finally with their other half ! We sent our AOS packet off last Wednesday the 20th, but we have yet to hear anything from them. I know it arrived on Saturday. We used the credit card paper and there has been no pending charge either. Should I be worried? Now I’m nervous I messed something up lol

We used the credit card payment method too and they had reserved an amount within one or two business days of our application being delivered in Chicago. That doesn't mean it has be the same for you though, we have a few people in the group who've had their EAD and AP apps received immediately and their AOS app received more than a week later, despite being sent together, for some unknown reason. That might mean payments are taking longer too. I wouldn't worry yet! :)
