I also got a request for initial evidence last Thursday, so bummed out. My application was received on May 31st. Fingers crossed to get the letter soon and that it's a quick fix.

RFE at this stage can also be a missing piece such as a passport photo, or not filled the paperwork properly or an old form etc.

It sure should be a quick fix :)

Happy Monday to everyone!

N-400: 12/05/2023 (confirmed fingerprints are re-used)

Interview scheduled for: 05/09/2024

Happy Monday to everyone!

I noticed that I forgot to check No for "Have you ever applied for an Immigrant visa to obtain permanent resident status at a U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate abroad?" in my i-485. Hopefully that's all it is!

A credit card method :D I didn't know we had that option and I may go with that.

I know, I was hesitant and first because I searched around on VJ and couldn't really find a lot of info about it. But we used it and it worked fine! :) Just fill out the G-1450 and put it on top of the application. We filled out one with the total amount $1,225, so it's not necessary to split the AOS fee and the bio fee either.

No I haven't seen that you should need anything else. I read that this is when they take the picture of you that'll be on your EAD and green card... Just FYI ;) I have been lounging so much at home lately I need to learn how to look decent again haha

Good Morning Guys! Happy Monday. I received my appointment for fingerprints for July 2nd and I see that some people are getting RFE's already. Is it for real? are they actually working on the cases so quickly??

Happy Monday :)

People are getting RFIEs already, requests for initial evidence. Those are different from RFEs. Requests for initial evidence regards things that concern the initial application. Common RFIE example is birth certificate in original language + certified translation. RFIEs reset the timeline (unfortunately) so it's great that they come so early. RFEs will probably come later on, before the interview or instead of the interview.

Hello!

Sorry to pop up in the topic I don’t belong to, but I thought somebody might have an answer to my question.

We’re planning to apply for AOS in late July/early August, but the thing is I don’t have a chickenpox shot done. I never had it as a child, and there was no vaccine available in my country. Of course we’re planning to do it now, but my question is - where to do it? Will the vaccine from local pharmacy or Walmart pharmacy be accepted by a civil surgeon?

Thank you for help in advance! I hope the green card waiting process will be less nerve racking than K-1!

It's quite strange that they haven't cashed the check yet. Were you able to track the delivery to the lockbox in Chicago?

We did track the delivery and it said it was delivered Sunday June 10th. Yesterday we finally got notification via text!! the check was cashed this morning. the strange thing is that in the text notifications; the EAD and AP were dated June 8th, and the AOS was dated June 22nd o_O ...glad things are rolling even if the dates don't make sense

Best to ask the civil surgeon you are going to f they accept it or not. I had insurance at the time of my AOS and did some at my local urgent care, but the office of the civil surgeon told me which ones i could do for cheaper.

Haha I also had my received date one day before it was delivered... But your AOS was super slow, wonder what that was about. Good to hear things are rolling for you now!

Really? I went into my bio appointment on June 20th and a guy  said look at here, and he took a shot of me. Probably I looked terrible and I didn’t know that is for the EAD and green card .... omg.. I must look terrible because I didn’t know he was going go take a pic of me at all. Yes, I just brought my passport and the letter and everything went well. They were super nice to me and friendly. I did ask how long I would have my interview, and the guy said it can take one month to a year... Ugh.

But since June 20th, nothing happened yet? Usually, other people status become ready to interview. Mine has not changed at all...
