Which one of you is 10 years older?

She said that the woman is 15 years older than the man. Not sure why everyone keeps posting about men older than the women because that is far more common

Based on this, anything outside the range of "Wife 3 years older than husband" to "husband 5 years older than wife" can be classified as "uncommon" and therefore it makes sense why USCIS would scrutinize that. Plus OP is from high fraud country, and wife being 15 years older than husband is in the 1% occurrence rate, so it's easy to see why it would be closely scrutinized.

Btw I am 7 years older than my wife. So according to this that's somewhat uncommon but we have a lot of other things in common and I'm Canadian so looking at everything together I don't expect us to be overly scrutinized.

I'm over 2 years older than my wife. However, my wife and I are totally outside the norm for her country based on our race. It was an interesting trip when I first met her as I stuck out like a sore thumb at the airport. At least it was easy for her to find me.

OP, as others have said before gather/show as much proof of your genuine relationship.

my wife is from a country where age differences is more common but for Older men and younger women, I have seen gaps as high as 40 years that were approved, but again that is more common from there, in our case there is a 26 yo gap, so far it's worked. Good luck to the OP

Yes, I am 36 years older than my beautiful pinay wife.  We had no problem, but then again that was the Philippines.  Filipinos culturally do not have the same feelings about age as Americans do.  But as I recall Nigerian men are expected to have children of their own, therefore the woman being older might be a matter of concern.

Your visits back to the country where he resides. I didn't mention that but that is what I meant. Sometimes they ask your spouse how many times you have visited him since you married him.

if your marriage is genuine, you will be approved.

I am 16 years older than my husband, I thought it would be an issue, but throughout our immigration process, not a question was asked.

If the Consular Officer BELIEVES the marriage is genuine and all else is in order, the visa will be approved.

The age difference that exists between current politicians and their wives is not germane to any immigration case and no good will come of a spousal visa applicant brining that up in an interview.

Evidence does not always speak for itself. I would not take advice from anyone who applied in the Philippines. They're a horse of another color. Seems normal for 70 year old men to bring 19 year old women, but that wouldn't fly in African countries. From experience and knowing other applicants from red flag countries, including myself - evidence isn't always looked at.

I agree that there are different norms for different areas, i do not see that as a reason to reject advice, anecdotal advice maybe is suspect perhaps but not all advice.

No need to hire a lawyer but be smart because the CO may not even ask for pictures/chats or ANYTHING. Many times, they see the age difference on the 134/129 and the DS-160 and will automatically jump into questions about it. A couple had been previously asked about the weight of the wife and if the husband was bothered by it. You really just never know. Be smart and don't assume because you took a picture together that the CO will just say "ok sure.. Welcome to the USA"

Thanks for saying this and pointing out the difference in the Philippines and other countries like it..countries like these can not be compared to African countries and others because we all know its not the same all

Hello everyone, this just an inquiry as to approval for a spousal visa. My husband and I are over ten years apart. We met and became friends through a church setting where we later communicated through phone calls etc. We've met three times before our registry wedding in Nigeria . His mother and brother attended the registry wedding followed by a beautiful reception two days later of which his other siblings attended. I have met with his parents and his siblings on many occasions besides the wedding and the reception  in August 2017. I was in Lagos last week to visit my husband and family also. So in total we have met five times. I am a December, 2017 filer but is curious based on information I have read about Nigeria being amongst the high fraud countries.

Oh, you got this in the bag...Hubby and I are ten years apart( no one would ever know unless I say something), been to Nigeria 4 times, met siblings, father-in-law, grandmothers, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and close friends..My mother-in-law lives in the U.K. but we speak At least 3 to 4 times a week along with his older sister and husband..Just be sure to have pics, travel itineraries, boarding passes, hotel receipts, gift receipts, cards, chat and call logs, etc..Lagos have been having lots of approvals lately and in hopes it will continue..You should be fine..As long as it's a legit and bonafide relationship, all will be well...Wishing you well on your journey!

Also Nigeria is not a red flag country, but more like a high fraud country..My husband was never asked about kids although we will be trying for one..You will be fine..Don't worry too much...

In our world, there are low fraud consulates, medium, high fraud, and LAGOS, and ACCRA, pretty much a class to themselves.  Never heard of the term "red flag country" used in this context.

My point exactly...Someone stated on this post that Nigeria is a "Red flag country" so that's why I stated what I said in my previous post because I've never heard of it used in that context as well...
