This can take up to 30 days after they get the package to send the notice.

Occasionally they also miss the e-notifications, in which case you just need to wait until you get the hardcopy.

Yeah. But now I don’t know if they get my package yet with the unreliable USPS. I can’t just wait and wait. Too much delaying you know.

Last time we sent out our k visa package and we got e notice right away.

Timelines to get the notice back vary heavily throughout the year based on where you send it and how many other applications they get at the same time.

Also, the I-129F is sent to the Dallas lock box, which is a different facility than the Chicago lockbox. It's usually slower than the Dallas one from what I've observed.

Well I didn't get the e-notification until the day after the checks were cashed because I think they're really slow at updating their online system. Keep calling your local office (or whichever office you sent the package from). Also click here and send them an email with your info.

My check is not cashed either. Today is Tuesday now.

But thanks for giving me the link.

But I did check that many people have problems sending out AOS package with USPS but not with Fedex. I will say, it is safer and quicker to send package out with FedEx. Because USPS sent to a P.O. BOX and also need to wait people to pick packages up I guess

People have problems sending via FedEx or UPS just as well. There's no data to suggest it occurs more often with 1 of those 3 carriers over another...unless somebody has some data I missed?

Most people tend to send via USPS. As a result, more packages get delayed, damaged, lost, etc. with them. But there's nothing to indicate it is more likely with 1 carrier over another in a meaningful/measurable way. A personal experience is fine, but it's not indicative of what to expect for others.

Why don’t you google and you will see many people have problems with USPS with AOS package. But rarely with Fedex. Apparently, I just posted my own experience here, if other people want to use USPS, fine with me. All I am saying is I did some research, and it did show many people especially sending AOS package with USPS have problems.

Also when you say something like that, you said you didn’t see any data, did you check ? I have read many people cases online. Of course you won’t see any data if you didn’t look into it at all.....

please no more defending for USPS, only if you work in USPS and find my package. Thanks.

Dont say something like , oh,  it happens with other post service too. Of course, but did some research and you would see many more people have problems with USPS.

Also , I just realized it that because we sent to a P.O. box. with USPS , USCIS people have to go to post office to pick it up and it is a delay too. While Fedex sent to USCIS office directly, I would think that saves some time.

Right, Google it...because I'm sure that will show how awful a carrier is. This isn't some off-beat startup...the only people who post reviews of a carrier are the ones who have issues. Again, you're looking at numbers of issues, not rates of occurrences of issues. People often send their AOS packages with USPS, but that doesn't mean becasue there are more reports of issues that it's more likely to occur than another carrier.

I did check. Anecdotal reports from the people who have had issues is not good data.

I'm not really defending it so much as pointing out that it's essentially the same all the carriers. Just trying to give some perspective.

If I did want to defend it, I would do so directly regardless of whether you want to hear it or not.

Disclosure: I do work with USPS (contractor). I don't deal with packages directly, but have dealt with package tracking systems. I have also seen what other carriers use and their processes.

Data please, not random reports.

Do some "research" and you'll see that it - at the very best - is not any faster. They check the PO box very regularly on a normal schedule. The facility where the other packages go then needs to be transported to the lockbox. It all goes to the same mail room at the lock box at the end.

I'm pretty sure the USPS rate for losing packages would be higher than for Fedex or UPS. That doesn't mean it's a high rate of course, but it likely would be higher.  I did lose a package once using Fedex though so it's not impossible.

Bottom line: with something that important, I'm using Fedex or UPS
