Don’t use USPS to send your package

I sent my AOS package on May 23,2018 and it never got to Chicago office and now it is May 31, my package is still not found, nowhere. I have called USPS several times and nothing happened yet. They did open a case investigation and said would get back to me in 48 hours. And they didn’t get back to me in 48 hours. There is nothing I can do. Also when USPS people answered my phone call , they were super unfriendly and rude and not helpful at all. I was very upset and wrote many many complaints. But I don’t think that would affect much to those rude staffs.

Basically now, I give up. USPS won. Ok, I will just send another package out and will never use USPS again. I know most people send their package with USPS without any problems. But you will see, if you are unlucky like me, you got ###### badly and USPS people didn’t care at all. It is delayed almost a week now. Dealing with USPS people are not worthing at all. I give up to find my package now.

I will just send out my new package on Monday.

The fact that you were unlucky doesn't mean usps is bad for everyone. Majority of people (including me) never had issues with it.

It's like saying, "people don't eat chocolate icecream because I found hair in mine once." :P

Always use tracking.  It's very hard to lose a package that has tracking.  It can be misplaced but eventually should be found.

If you had tracking and it got lost, you were very unlucky.  And I wouldn't put down the whole system due to one lost package.

I did use the tracking number. You are right, maybe it would eventually found. But you know what, how long should I wait for that? It is a week now and still not found. I am not putting the whole system down. But I am saying is , if anyone wants to experience what I have experience by any chance , use USPS.

I'm in the crowd that had no problem using USPS. Did your package have tracking?

Yes. And it just said it is in transit and never updates now.

You are right. But all I am saying is, there is a chance that people use USPS would have a problem. And anyone who wants to take the risk, definitely should use USPS. And google how many people use USPS and miss their AOS package you would be surprised. Apparently, everyone doesn’t want to wait longer for the AOS process and it is already long. But USPS makes it even longer. Wonderful

Don't count weekends or the Monday holiday for USPS.

What service did you send it by? Priority with signature confirmation?

Not to beat a dead horse, but a package can get lost using ANY service.  Or do you believe that Fedex or UPS never lose packages?

Priority mail service. I sent it on Wednesday and it was supposed to be there on Friday. And since Friday, tracking site sailed in transit and now it is not even updated. I am new to the USA postal service and I didn’t know it was so bad. I am an immigrant you know.

I have no interest to argue with you in that. Well, you can google it to see which service lose more packages. And of course, use what post office you want. I am just using my own experience to warn some people.

Just very bad luck I guess. Monday was the Memorial Day.

In general I have never had any issues sending a government related package via USPS. It has always arrived when it should, and signature confirmation is also very valuable. However I have had problems with USPS with just my average regular mail delivery, getting employees to understand how to properly send outgoing international mail, incoming international mail delivery, and general forgetfulness of my local mailperson. Personally though I find fedex and UPS services especially appalling, but that's just me (though fedex was very fast to apologize when I complained publically on social media).

Getting around their customer service can be difficult, but as you have paid for their service you deserve answers. So keep pressing them. You may even be able to go to your local office and talk to someone face to face. There may have been a delay due to the holiday.. or many other factors. If you receive no answers by later next week, I would resend (make sure to cancel the previous check).

Have you checked your bank account?

I sent mine with USPS too with tracking but no signature. I sent it on a Friday. The lady said, "It'll be there Monday!". I thought, "Wow, great!". Monday came and the tracking changed to "out for delivery" to "in transit". I FREAKED OUT! I waited a few more days and then on Thursday, I went to the post office. The guy was not helpful at all and told me to just wait more. I immediately went home and sent an email to USPS demanding an explanation. They just said, "Your package is still in transit". The next Monday came and went. I started to get really worried. But then my husband checked our bank account and showed me that the checks had been cashed by USCIS.

Check your bank account first for a few more days and keep bothering USPS for another week.

I will send my package next Monday. I don’t think I should wait for USPS to spend a month or I don’t know how many days to do investigation. They are supposed to get back to me today and nothing yet. I tried to press them by phone, email or complaints.

But the woman who answered my phone just said she was not the one I should talk to and I said it is the only number I can call. She was very rude and unhelpful and hung up my phone. I wish she should get fired.  That’s so ridiculous and she said I should wait. Well, apparently they just make me wait.

If i resend my package,  I probably would use fedex. But if USCIS got two packages from me, I don’t know what would happen.

It is been a week now. We sent out on last Wednesday and it is in transit now..

How did you bother USPS ? We called and called and people answered my phone are super rude and unhelpful at all.

No check cashed.

If USCIS got our package, we should get e-notification. But nothing now. So USCIS didn’t get my package apparently...
