Nope we are still waiting. Our status was ready to be scheduled since August 2017 and it changed to "uscis can't provide you information.." in April. Not sure what will happen next.

OH my goodness

This is simply atrocious. Someone that filed AOS in Jan/Feb of 2018 should not be getting their GC before someone that filed in June 2017!
I hope you hear soon!

I know, very sad. I just don't understand the logic behind the cases that approved and what order they go in.

no no
People with different offices are getting approved.
Because their office either has lower case load and/or processes cases faster.

I just think it doesn't make any sense why someone has to suffer because of the geographical region they are in.
If New Mexico has no cases, ship some from Pennsylvania and Houston to them!

and have the busy offices only conduct the interviews. I mean it really should not be skewed this much

I agree. I have been searching all over for data and information on what other filers are going through. I honestly don't see filers from past Feb 2017 getting scheduled interviews in Houston very much. It's as if things just stopped here. :(

Much of it is to do with geographical location, unfortunately. When I had an infopass appointment the USCIS officer pretty much says big cities i.e Houston and Philadelphia are clogged because when Trump was inaugurated many out of status immigrants etc jammed in applications to try and get legal. The biggest areas that were impacted by this are big cities that have a large immigrant population.

I figured because Houston is a hub and I doubt many immigrants are moving to New Mexico or Utah...

It's just disappointing and disheartening. They should have done something to alleviate the backlog (yes I know, government doesn't really care, no incentive, etc)
Still would have been nice though :D
oh well. Here's to hoping things improve...

But you know, I don't think it's only the geographical location, I think the type of visa you are coming from also has priorities over others because of complexities

Yeah for sure, if you're from a country that requires more security checks  that'll hold things up also - for sure

When did you get your notice that your interview was scheduled? You and I are close in dates, stuck in two jammed cities.

My status changed on May 17th to 'Interview was scheduled' - I got the notice in the mail maybe a week later

Were you getting that error of USCIS can't currently provide you with information on your case?

Correct, you can't transfer to other offices.

There's a big backlog in Philadelphia right now, but 15 minutes away right over the water in New Jersey the Mount Laurel field office is much, much quicker - so a couple of people going through Philly wondered if they could get their case transferred, but no such luck.

I don't typically see people from the Mount Laurel office. How long have you heard wait times are there?

If one has two addresses, can he/she use the one that has its local office with shorter processing time?

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
This was what I was thinking.

I doubt this works. Shouldn't one only technically have one residency at a time?
Because most of ur "official" documents have to have the same address? That's probably the one USCIS wants or whatever address u used for I-129F (assuming u still live there?)
