I know this is a long shot-

Processing times for green card is based on ur local field office and am seeing that the Houston office is FARRRRRRRRRR behind other offices :(

But anyone recently have any experience with the Houston Office/know how long times processing is taking?

  • Can one request a transfer of offices? Like am happy to fly elsewhere if it means I can get the green card in less than a year...

~Moved to Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports~

Each case is unique. While processing times are a bit slower lately, we had no issues. GC in hand without interview in 9-10 months through the Houston office.

Not sure if you can transfer to another office, I would assume no myself.

Correct, you can't transfer to other offices.

There's a big backlog in Philadelphia right now, but 15 minutes away right over the water in New Jersey the Mount Laurel field office is much, much quicker - so a couple of people going through Philly wondered if they could get their case transferred, but no such luck.

It's crazy yeah - we got our interview scheduled for June 26th, we filed July 10th last year so almost 1 year. I know someone who went through Portland, Oregon who got their GC in four months also. Crazy.

Mean really I think stressing over the GC itself is useless. Long as you get the EAD/AP combo card, then just sit back and relax and don't worry about the GC. We didn't even think about it until it showed  up in the mail one day.

I agree- but that GC does speed up how quickly you get your Citizenship tho.

I was just surprised when my friend got the GC before EAD/AP so I was hoping that's a universal trend.
Till I saw how slow my office was...

It's a hard process, I found it much harder waiting for the GC than I did the I-129F - that being said our I-129F was approved in about two months. I just think until you get the GC you're in some sort of weird state of limbo

I just looked at ur timeline-
U were one of those living the good life way back when with 2-3 month approvals :jest:

I was approved around 7 months for I-129F so w'ere kinda used to waiting.
But we're right there with you- that green card is essential these days and it's really not fair in my opinion that some are kinda good and clear at 4 months and others at 13 months just because of backlog
They gotta learn to shift some of this work around

And you still don't have an interview?
This is terrible.

Nope we are still waiting. Our status was ready to be scheduled since August 2017 and it changed to "uscis can't provide you information.." in April. Not sure what will happen next.
