I FINALLY got my Philippine fiancee home.  She had her interview in December and was approved for her visa but they said she had to give them a police clearance from Bahrain before they would release it.  Lengthy process to get the Bahrain police clearance.  Once she was given her visa we were surprised to see it expired June 8th.  So we barely got her here before it expired.  I understand that we have 90 days to marry, but the 8 June end date has me nervous so I intend to marry my fiancee next Tuesday, 5 June.  I guess somewhere in here I'll find out how to notify the state department of our marriage and provide them a copy of our marriage certificate.

The K-1 visa expiration means when the visa expires or can be used to come to the US. Once she entered the US, the K-1 was voided and she is legally present in the US on the I-94 for 90 days. Once married you need to apply for AOS (no notification to state department or anything)

As @Ben&Zian said the visa expiration date was the latest date that she could come into the country. Once she arrived here in the USA you guys have 90 days to get married, then after you get married you can file for AOS before or after the 90 days is up(it's up to you). The first thing that you both need to do is to get her SSN ASAP. After she gets that and you two get married she can then change it to the married name from her maiden name.

You do not need to notify anyone at the State Dept. for anything so forget that. But you do need to file for AOS after you get married.
