Here is an update on biometrics in Chicago - very fast and painless! It took me an hour to get there (public transit, not the nicest area of the city) and i was done in 5 minutes, including wait time and the fingerprinting! Really fast!

But - we got a Request For Initial evidence for the I-864. It said we either: didn't sign it, didn't include proper documents or was out or date. Now i am really not sure which one of these is the reason, but re-sending it today. Hope we don't mess it up.

Hi once again. I had to resubmit my package as I sent outdated I 485.

So

Package sent on 2 July.

Received on 5 July.

Accepted on 10 July.

GOT NOA on 16 July.

Does anyone say how long approximately to get biometrics scheduled?

Thanks 😉

Please I would like to know if they returned the whole package or just the I485 form because I made the same mistake with my application. thanks

Hi. They returned the whole thing. So I just downloaded the recent i485 and printed out and sent with other forms that I already had. So it was no problem

Case is ready to be scheduled for interview as of today 7/30. Did bio-metrics on 7/26. I wonder how long until they actually schedule me an interview.

I actually have the same timeline as you! Yesterday hubby got an email that case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. We asked our lawyer why so early and she said that USCIS has some fraud detection team so maybe that's why we got it early (hes Indian and I am Hispanic.  His F1 expired June 28th but USCIS received documents before his status expired)? Hubby hasn't done medical yet but we will have to do it soon.

First of all, you need to start to schedule an appointment for the medical exam.

And don't worry about the update status of the "fingerprints received", cos I didn't get any updated before, they just skip the "fingerprints received" updated and changed to "case is ready for interview" a month later.

Hey All,

Below is my timeline:

USCIS receives documents on June 22nd 2018

biometrics done July 26th

July 30th = case is ready to be scheduled for an interview

Our lawyer mentioned that maybe we got that notice early is because USCIS has some fraud detection group & since hes Indian, I'm Hispanic ,& his status (F1 stem OPT) expired a week AFTER USCIS received all of the paperwork, that'swhy everything seems to be moving a bit faster.

Do you guys think it's because of the fraud detection stuff? We have been together since 2015. so far nothing on EAD

We are from ATL,GA.

Fraud detection? Care to explain a bit more ? Also what is your field office?

It took them a while. But depends where u are residing. I am in Colorado so I got it after 2 or 3 weeks. They use cheapest option to mail so. Hang on in there:)

I wish I could explain more, even we are confused as to what she means by that. In her response (we communicated via email), she stated that "they have an anti-fraud team" and that since hubby is Indian and I am not, and hubby's visa expired, that may be the reasons why we're seeing the status of ready for an interview.

I know USCIS has some anti-fraud stuff going on, but I don't know if suspicion of fraud is a reason why our interview date could be sooner than later.

There are people who filed in 2017 who still haven't had an interview date so....

I filed from Atlanta, GA.... went to NBC in Chicago.

Interesting. I am an F1 student in current status and me and my wife are from the same country same age etc lived together from last year at same place etc. I dont see why they would suspect fraud in my case. My country is far from a high fraud country as well.

In my opinion, I think she's wrong. Honestly, even if our interview date is with next 1 - 2 months, that's fine...as long as we can happily finish this Green Card journey much faster 😎
