What goes in as the National ID number on the DS-160 for Russians? My fiance is attempting to fill out the DS-160 and doesn't know what to put as his National ID number.  I'm assuming it's his Russian passport number but he wants to be sure. I didn't realize that Russians have two passports!  The national passport and the international one, which I just learned he doesn't yet have.  Another thing to get done asap.

Hopefully, I'm writing this in the correct portal.

Thanks!

@Pelmeni choose "Doesn't apply" because we only have Taxpayer ID and Insurance for Retirement ID

Your National ID Number is a unique number that your government provides. The U.S. Government provides unique numbers to those who seek employment (Social Security Number) or pay taxes (Taxpayer ID).
