Hello,

We were waiting on a GC to arrive in the mail a few months after entry into the United States. To make a long story short, we never received the card, although USPS claims it was delivered to our mailbox 2 months ago (during which I called USCIS and they told me the card had yet to be printed, it wasn't until a week ago they provided me tracking info).

Does anyone have any experience/success filing the I-90 form to replace the GC and not paying the fee? I haven't been able to get a straight answer from USCIS, but during one call they claimed I could "easily" call USPS (an oxymoron) and request that they, on official letterhead, simply state that they messed up the delivery. While I believed this at the time, I've since tried calling USPS and aside from not even getting a human on the other line, I also predict it impossible for them to assume responsibility.

Anyone with advice or experiences on how to request a replacement and avoid the fee is greatly appreciated!
