Does beneficiary’s employment history is also checked by USCIS?

Hi! I’m new to this forum. I’ve checked the form I-129F and there’s a part about beneficiary’s (me) employment history for the last 5 years. It’d cover 3 employers of mine. The first one I was AWOL so I don’t know how it’d go. The second one (and also my current full time) I just turned 3 years, and the latest one (part time for 5 months and planning to resign) but I don’t think they’ll recognise my employment as I’m just a part time. My question is, will they also do a background check on my employment history? What if I put all of those three and the first and last (part time) says that I’m not part of their previous employees? Please help.

You should list your past employment exactly as it was, whether full time or part-time.  Don't worry about what your former employers "might say".  Just fill out the forms honestly........

Hi! But do you think they really check it? I’m just really worried that what they might say would affect our application. :(

I'm not exactly sure what they check, but you should list all your employers.  What you describe will not affect your application.   What would affect it, is not answering questions honestly.......Good luck.

Always list everything to it's entirety and as accurately as possible. They generally do not care about the beneficiaries work history, whether you work, unemployed, student, they don't care. Only things that may make them ask is military service in another country or say specialty jobs like to do with chemicals/nuclear stuff; but those still don't by themselves cause any issues in the process, they just may be asked about.

Yes they check it. Whether it's a quick look or a deep look will depend on the line of work or if any warning bells go off.

Probably not directly (i.e. contacting the employer), but the background checks are a black box so it's not impossible either. They will at least review it on the form, though. Either way, all you have to do is list it. They won't approve or deny the petition or visa on your employment history (unless you lie).

I am a teacher. So do you think they will go through it? Contacting and verifying with the employer?

Hmm so what if they contacted the employer and they denied that I was part of their employees before, that would make the USCIS think I’m lying about it right? That’s what I’m worried about.

They won't be calling around. The normal background check will match up with what you put down on paper. They won't be calling your school and talking to the staff.

Weird the school would say you weren't an employee. Unless it's something like a sub position and then I don't think you are part of their school. If your job there was a temp position they may just not think of it the same way as you. If that is the case and for some strange reason the CO asks about it you can explain it.

I would not stress about it.

No they will not. USCIS wont contact US employers to verify either

The reason they want you to list your employment to make sure you don't put something like you worked in KTV bar in Manila, or maybe you wrote you worked in Japan as GRO which might be caught during the Manila Interview

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

Ahhh! Thank you for this. Helps a lot! 😊

I was stressing over this because it happened before that the first employee said I was not their employee while I was still working with them. The HR just sucks with keeping all their employees names and files. Also, one of the reasons why I left them.

Thank you to all of you for being so responsive and patience for answering my questions. It means a lot. :D

  • 2 years later...

Hi, how was your application? Did it get approved? I have a similar situation.

I was employed part time commission basis for 2 years. I didn't earn that much and didn’t pay taxes. So I was wondering if I should include this in my employment. My employer will verify that I was a part time employee / free lancer but there will be no record in the Philippines about my taxes for 2 years. Please help
