Well we had the medical yesterday and they say they found something irrelegular in her chest x-ray I guess they think it could be TB so now she has to come in 3 mornings straight to cough up septum and then it's going to be 2 months before she gets the results. Her son is blessed to continue the interview . The question is when will I be able to reschedule the interview because if I wait the 2 months for the results then I'll have to wait 4 more months or so for an actual interview man am I dressed someone please help me with some information

You wait till you know what her results are to schedule an interview. The child waits for mom and they do the interview together. If you have an interview date now keep and eye on the progress she makes and the upcoming interview date. You can cancel and not reschedule till she is ready. You are allowed to cancelations before you are sent to the back of the line with a 90 day waiting period and having to pay the visa fee all over again. Best to sit tight till you know what is going on with her. If she has TB you are looking at a 6 month regiment of every day (M-F) taking the drug at the medical center.

My interview date is the 21st. They have 3 days of phlegm collections.  They said it takes 2 months for testing or something like that. They also told me that the child can go ahead with the interview and she can attend but I don't have to pay the fees again. This was a totally unexpected turn of events

I read it takes 8 weeks for the culture to grow 😫 ..there was a post I read that they had a similar case in December and don't get approved until April.  But my family took their cas appointment. And according to what they are telling me I won't have to do the medical or the cas again for my wife again after her results of the TB test. I just need information on how to handle her rescheduling. Maybe she can talk to the officer when she accompanying her son.. what is the number for the consulate in Juárez I can't fnd it .

Basically it goes like this:

1) Chest X-ray, if clear you're good/done. If there's any suspicious findings (even if you're asymptomatic) you go to

2) Sputum, both rapid and culture. Rapid/initial is positive, you start treatment. If rapid is negative, you wait 2 months for the culture result. Meaning that they take the sputum collection and grow it in a medium that favors the growth of TB bacteria if present. It can take up to 6-8 weeks for TB to grow/appear. That's why if it show up at any time, you start treatment. If not, that's where you see people getting approved for immunizations after the cultures come back negative.

3) If any of the sputum collections show positive, then it's 6 months of DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment, Short-Course)

Contact the Embassy for any scheduling or rescheduling.

Where do the treatments take place if they are positive? Does it have to be in ciudad Juárez

It must be at the same medical facility that she took her interview medical at. She can take it from a private physician but there is a ton of paperwork and she completes the DOT regiment then she will need to wait a year and pay for a new exam. Best to have it administratored at medical center.

Hello,

My fiancé and his children had their interview on the December 11th and was given Form 221g for DNA testing of his daughters as well as DS5535.   On the same day we were told that we needed DNA testing I ordered and paid for the DNA kits from one of the accredited labs required  by the Embassy.  It was $$$$ for the kits.  They arrived at the US Embassy on December 19th.  I wrote the Embassy the same day asking for an expedite on DNA collection as we are now over a year in our process and received a reply that no expedite would be granted.  The Embassy went on to say in the same email that the wait time for DNA calls from the Embassy is more than three months.  We have absolutely no issue with the DNA testing as these are his biological children but the delay on the Embassies part is very frustrating.

Their medicals need to be valid upon entering the US and their medicals were completed November 12th and will expire six months from that date.  So there's a possibility that medicals will have to be redone.

Our NOA2 expired December 7th and NCIS tells me I need to contact the Embassy for an extension and the Embassy tells me I have to contact USCIS.  So there's that concern.

My fiancé completed the DS5535 questionnaire and emailed it to the Embassy as instructed and we received the generic automated response back from the Embassy but I was told that they don't show a record of it so I resent it.

Although originally we wanted my fiance' and his children to arrive together, today I wrote the Embassy asking could they complete the process on my fiancé so he can come to the US so we can marry with the children following once their DNA testing is done.  No reply as of yet except the automated response.  Why wasn't DNA requested from the get go ?  We have no problem with the DNA testing as I stated but it's the delay.

What does anyone suggest we do from here?

We are so ready to get on with our lives together married rather than me visiting his country for four to five months at a time while we wait.
