Have you tried to look up the NVC case number on the CEAC website to see what its status is?

I have heard of cases returning to USCIS from the NVC because of processing errors that were recognized at the NVC but I have never heard a case being returned to NVC from the embassy. It will he interesting to see what your status is on CEAC.

the status on ceac sais returned to NVC

Congratulations!! Now you can go to the nvc website and create a profile and track your case. Next step is scheduling medical and interview after filling out your DS 160 online

Returned to NVC from the embassy?

Hi,

Is there any way that you can call the NVC and find out whether they have got your case if you haven’t received your NOA2?

I am at Day 216 here and I have 2-3 cases wherein people didn’t get any NOA2 and their cases got to NVC like @Amy & John

I don’t remember as such , there was one  person whose case got returned from NVC  to USCIS because they didn’t get a NOA2 and since he requested that his case got sent back. I think there was one more case.

Our case got to the embassy and now it’s going back to uscis and nothing we can do. If anybody has had this happen to them please contact me :( if really appreciate it.

Our case was approved in May... and we never knew it. Not that it matters now

It was me.

That was back in June and I'm now stuck in limbo because of it.

Each time I call I get a different answer. The latest one being the worst.

Now, they (USCIS) are claiming that there was no way my case went to the NVC much less the embassy. I told the officer that my fiance did her medicals filed her DS-160 and had an interview scheduled and the answer I got was "oh, she can do all that stuff without an approval".  Not true because they won't schedule an interview or do a medical exam without a case number and the package. At that point I basically threw my hands up and was like forget it I'm just wasting my time. Guy was a total jerk too, he didn't even listen to the background of the whole situation when I explained it to him. He just kept repeating "Sir, I don't know where you are getting your information from but we never approved your petition". I even offered to send him the copy of the official letter I received from the NVC and he just implied that whatever I got was fake.

Anyways, again, I'm basically screwed all because I asked for a hardcopy of the NOA2 receipt that the USCIS failed to send me in the first place after my case was approved.

Nothing I can do but wait and see what happens. I'm at their mercy. I've already written both my Congressman and to Ombudsman and nothing.....

Yes, a case can come back from the Embassy. It happened to us.

All the USCIS has to do is recall it and it goes back.

The CEAC status doesn't mean a whole lot because mine still says "ready" on it even though they no longer have it.

It's just as bad as the USCIS status site, never gets updated and if it does it's way behind. Heck, the USCIS old site and new site for me still says "your case has been received Nov. 8th 2017"

It's funny how statistically, what are the odds that my case would be the one that has all the wrong, weird stuff that happens to it?! Like 1 in a 10,000 and yet it happened.

So sorry this has happened to both of us. We never even contacted uscis asking for our NOA2... nvc letter came today and by the time I checked ceac website our case has already been recalled and no one can tell me why. To say I’m devastated is beyond a joke right now. This is a cruel journey.

What? Do you know why it was returned to NVC? It could be a technical error I hope. Let us know

Nvc couldn’t tell me why they just do what uscis request. Fiancé called uscis and they basically said no your case has never been approved he prettty much ignored my fiancé when he said we had a letter from nvc. To make matters worse we did an inquiry mid June they still will not do another one.

Okay well OBVIOUSLY USCIS needed to correct something in order to send it back to them and so not telling you what the issue is is just terribly wrong there.😡😡 I'm praying for you both so you have a lot of folks here who are with you so keep in touch and let us know any updates as soon as you hear something. I really hate the feeling of being helpless and wish there was something that can be done. Hang in there and keep us informed.

Exactly what happened to me when I called them. The officer just disregarded everything I told him even the part where I told him I got an official letter from the NVC with an assigned case number.

He just brushed it off and implied that I was making stuff up.

this honestly is complete BS!!! I knew uscis were a mess but this is a whole new level. im quite sure both our cases were approved, they had to be to be sent to nvc and then to our embassy's.

I bet they just skipped the part of imputing this into their system so of course to them it looks like we never  approved.

I feel like un approved cases don't make it from uscis to nvc and then to embassy.

its a joke and im so angry because according to nvc our case was approved on May 18th and they received in June 26th.
