This is pretty strange and a first from what I've seen thus far.

So I just got an email from the NVC with a scanned copy of a letter that is being sent to my fiancee with the case number and instructions....meaning my I-129 had already been approved without my knowing for probably the past few weeks.

I never received any sort of notice for my NOA2. I just now checked the old and new websites and they still only show the NOA1 date of receipt.

So I essentially have no idea what my NOA2 date was.....

Either way, it's good news for us.

So to those out there who are still waiting, it may be that you are already approved and it's in the NVC's hand but you never received your NOA2.

USCIS is baffling to say the least.

I still feel the frustration for those out there but don't fret, it will come just have to be patient. I definitely was and in the end even though I thought I was being left behind I was actually still on track.

I'll update my timeline now.

Woohooo!!!

You didn't get a hardcopy in the mail? Do they have your correct mailing address?

Day 222 for us...😕

Noa1 Nov 2nd.

We reached out to our congresswoman last week and she said it would be a week or two before she had an update. Very hard to keep waiting...

Awww. I'm so sorry for you. Hang in there. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your approval will come soon

I received my NOA 1 hard copy so unless they somehow managed to incorrectly input my address on the NOA 2 envelope then they should have it.

The only other thing I can think of is that the USPS lost it, which, wouldn't be surprising as my particular area is notorious for that. It's something that I was worried about from the beginning.

Good thing is I at got a letter straight from the NVC. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't we need to present the hard copy of the USCIS approval letter moving forward as it is more of a formality than anything else to have.

The bad thing though is that I can't correctly update my timeline. I don't know what my NOA 2 date is much less when the NVC received it.

Only thing I can imagine that you need your NOA2 hardcopy for is for your new Alien number.

NVC will send you an email if you sign up the beneficiary's email address with them (which you should). It will state your dates and your new case file #.

You're correct. Thanks.

Whoops, I wrote that wrong, I actually meant to say that I don't believe we need to have the NOA 2 hard copy moving forward.

I already got the email from NVC that gives me all the information I need so I'm not really too concerned with not receiving my NOA 2 hard copy.

Be careful...Maybe it was a "trick" RFE?

Maybe they have investigated and found out that your petitioner has a criminal charge that has not been disclosed and USCIS is giving you the opportunity to change your answer and provide the necessary evidence.

The Criminal History section is very complex, needs to be read thoroughly and should not be taken lightly.

Just a thought/warning as non-disclosure can be a flat out denial. We've seen that here before with someone else (John & Mary, if I recall correctly)....I know for a fact John (?) would have done everything for an RFE in his case.

I am the petitioner and have no criminal history. I have had numerous background checks myself because of my field of work. So who knows

you actually need hardcopy of NOA2 for AOS, so you better call uscis and tell them that you never received it & they will resend it to you again.

YOu will need Noa2 for AOS or you will have to pay USCIS hundreds of dollars to get a duplicate copy.  Its insane and have heard it happen to others who either lost it or never received it.

Do you have your Alien Number commonly referred to as your A#. You'll need the number plus the NOA2 during this process and AOS. You might rethink your strategy as it looks to us that it is somewhat flawed. Just saying.

Has anyone filed an e-request on the USCIS website? How long did it take to get a response?

Some have said a week to 10 days. But others have said they received nothing in return. So buyer beware.
