I'm at 216 days now.

My NOA 1 is Nov. 6th Old Nov. 8th new.

This is exactly the reason why I don't hold much promise in contacting Congressman or Senators much less putting in an inquiry to the USCIS.

If you have people who feel they need to start inquiring in advance then it only encourages others to do the same, which, in turn simply bogs up the already bogged up system.

I've been patient and only just started to file any sort of inquiries but I am outside of normal processing time now.

You pretty much just confirmed to me that yourself along with who knows how may others are jumping the gun.

Sorry for the vent but put yourself in some of the November filers shoes.  See how you feel when you start seeing people who filed in March te complaining and writing to Congressman while you still haven't heard anything two months from now.

we waited for 7 months too before contacting congress office .we like to follow by the book. we are now 214 days and we are just about to call by monday.

Just wanted to ask and I'm certain I know this answer, but I'm getting ready to send off my RFE back to uscis and my fiancee (the US citizen) is telling me that they are asking for her address (yes as in they don't know what her address is) when it's clearly stated on the damn notice and my foreign address to be put on the return address section on the envelope to be sent back to them. Since when on God's green earth has it ever asked for 2 different addresses when one is already registered in the system and the other is so far out of the country on the from section.

Be happy it's a simple fix which shouldn't take long for ur approval once they get rfe back.

IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

Didn't I tell you would get it by Thursday or Friday?  I figured our dates were the same and we were both approaching the 7 month, Congrats on your approval!

I received RFE letter from DHS on Saturday,  it's not my remaining divorce docs they want, its the 2 divorce documents for the beneficiary that are at issue, both were in Russian (Cyrillic) and they want them translated and certified,  I didn't know I had to do that, I figured they had their own way to translate it. Fortunately I found a online service that does this, they translate in any language and they certify for USCIS,  They should have it done in one day, well see.

It's not unusual to get an unusual request from UCSIS. Can't explain it. Just remember "he who has the gold makes the rules". Follow the RFE to the letter. Make a copy of the letter to put in the box. You keep the original. Once they have it you should start to see movement again on your case in about 2 weeks. That is normal.

Yes, it's very hard to read this and not feel something...😕

Today we are at 220 days waiting.  And have been very patient throughout this process.  We waited until we were outside processing times based on the new system date (not the old) just to be sure they couldn't say we inquired too early.

Its like waiting in a long que and the person at the end cutting in front of you - nobody likes that.  We are all anxious and waiting to be with our finances. Some of us cannot see them every few weeks/months (I know its been a year for us, and it truly stinks.)

I totally agree with @jakejon and @Alekezam it really slows everything down, because the congressman still has to look at your case and respond telling you that you're not outside the processing time yet - which slows down the process for all of us that did wait and follow the guidelines and are allowed to inquire.  So when you say, "what can it hurt?" I'd say more than you know. Please be considerate of those us waiting ahead of you. And most definitely do not encourage others in your month to follow you. We all have to wait.  Once you reach 210 days or 7 months - THEN you can inquire, that's what the USCIS official website instructs. [I'm thinking if they made those that inquired too early to go to the back of the line in waiting for their NOA2, for not following directions...a few more people would learn to follow directions. :P  Just a thought.]

Our NOA1 is Nov 2nd (old system) and Nov 6th (new system). So we've been waiting 7 months and 8 days - and our case is not complicated at all.

Best of luck to all those waiting still, it's definitely not easy.

Really hoping we see some November movement this coming week!! :)

I haven’t seen my fiance for almost a year now. I dare say it’s his fault for not wanting to move here when I asked him. Now we pay for the consequences.

Anyway, waiting for more than 7 months is too cruel! I got back our petition from the embassy, scanned, with handwriting from USCIS’s staff. Based from the simple scribbles, and that much of experience dealing with forms etc... they should haven’t take more than 10 minutes for one petition. Maybe because of the workloads or understaffed... idk. I’m willing to volunteer for them if they need help, specifically for untouched November filers and previous month’s filers. Seriously.

Anyway 💪 best wishes for all of you! The patience will paid off.
