What is the reason for waiting for the interview date and to get the medical completed now?

Scan and send. Yes, most of the time USEM does not ask for financials, but they also recommend having it with you at the interview.

Interesting because Larry the guy doing my visa never said that to me to scan and send to my fiancee. The guy's wife is working with my fiancee to fill out that DS160 application so I think it will be done today in the Philippines. Otherwise, I would have done it myself Greenbaum. Guess that's why we paid the $500.00 which isn't bad from the beginning of the k1 petition all the way till she get's her visa and helping to schedule her CFO class as well so it's all included in the service. To bad I did't know you before that right? I know I know your still thinking  about that Red Horse taste!! For me I'm still a San Miguel guy. :pop:!!

Before they submit the DS-160, may I suggest that you look it over first and then when you are satisfied she can go ahead and submit. Print off a couple of copies of the DS-160 confirmation page with the bar code for the interview.

Try and get CFO out of the way as the appointments do go fast.  Also, $500 is pretty good price especially when your fiancé can ask questions to another Filipino. They seem to connect and feel much more comfortable with any interaction with them.

Yeah I will definitely message my fiancee and let her know and send an email to Larry to have us look over at the application before they submit it.  Yeah they only live 30 minutes away from my fiancee and have already met each other. The couple will go back to her home again go over her packet before leaving for Manila and the guy's wife will practice with Maria interview questions and anything she needs when in Manila. As for the CFO does it make sense to wait after she get's get visa to take the class? That way she won't have to go back and get her CFO sticker. I was there in 1999 in Cebu when I was first married and I can tell you they didn't like me being there . Anyway are you in the states or living abroad? Really can't wait to meet you and the wife there one day. God bless you my friend!!! Oh almost forgot I have of course my 2017 tax returns and am hearing I need a tax transcript but I have signatures on the 2017 tax returns so should be okay? Okay sorry for taking so much of your time. Enjoy your day my friend!!

As for the CFO does it make sense to wait after she get's get visa to take the class? If she waits and the course Is booked for a month what does that do to your scheduling. Just something to be thinking about. CFO can be taken at Manila, Cebu and Clark, Pampanga. She can get the sticker at anyone of the locations plus NAIA airport on the day she leaves.

That way she won't have to go back and get her CFO sticker. I was there in 1999 in Cebu when I was first married and I can tell you they didn't like me being there .

Anyway are you in the states or living abroad? I'm stateside for now. It's hard to talk by wife into going back to the PI to live as she likes America too much. Besides she has a few more months till she is eligible for Social Security when later in life she reaches retirement age.

Oh almost forgot I have of course my 2017 tax returns and am hearing I need a tax transcript but I have signatures on the 2017 tax returns so should be okay? Transcripts are easier to submit and consist of 2 pages at best. Free to download but not required if you send the 1040.

Okay sorry for taking so much of your time. Enjoy your day my friend!!

So I'm pretty pissed right now.

My fiance calls me up this morning and tells me that she got a call from the consulate in Kyiv saying that her interview for tomorrow morning has been cancelled because the USCIS requested her petition back again due to a problem (of course there was no explanation).

So to make a long story short, I never received a hard copy of the NOA2 even though I had already received my approval letter from the NVC so at the advice of members on this board I called up the USCIS to make sure they send me an NOA2 hardcopy. In the back of my mind I was also thinking I hope in doing so it doesn't somehow create an issue with our process even though the mistake was on their end. Lo and behold, by coincidence, this happens. I checked my case status at the old USCIS site and there some updates and coincidentally the dates of the updates are the exact same date that I made the call for the NOA2.....the description states that it is for an inquiry I made about not receiving my approval notice.

Now we're probably stuck in some stupid loop because the lady from the consulate that called my fiance told her to check the USCIS website for the update as it still shows received. They never updated the system and I never received my NOA2! The Tier 2 officer when I called the USCIS said it was a mistake on their part and instructed me to not worry and to just proceed as I already have a case number from the NVC.

So basically by requesting for an NOA2 hardcopy I essentially screwed myself over as it appears to have created confusion on their part.

I knew I should've left it alone. You don't even need the NOA2 hard copy....I did tons of research and calls after the fact and when you apply for the AOS they already have your alien number and visa information tied to your passport, which, proves that you are approved! Sigh.

What's done is done so now my question is, should I be calling the NVC or the USCIS now to figure out what's going on? I was under the impression that once the NVC has the approval and assigned a case it is handled with them moving forward and doesn't go back to the USCIS.

Even the CEAC website under the status update link our case shows "Ready" and it was updated today Jul 2.

https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Case Created: 01-Jun-2018
Case Last Updated: 02-Jul-2018

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://nvc.state.gov/interview
For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.

This process is so ridiculous.

I'm at wit's end.

Greeenbaum, can u imagine the people coming in from Mexico, Honduras and El Savador and yet our liberal nuts want open borders and no ICE agents. It's really getting out of control and insane to suggest no ICE agents here. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN I can tell you that.. So folks like us who are doing things the right way getting our fiancees and spouse here well seems like they don't care about breaking the law and those kids at the border? Give me a break, those parents and traffic smugglers know exactly what they are doing. So as you said having to wait is hard enough BUT at least our partners will be here LEGALLY so I'm not worried.

My fiance and I have been feeling the exact same way. I mean I get wanting to escape violence in Central America and wanting to be somewhere safe, but at the same time why should someone who showed up at the border yesterday be shown preferential treatment when I've been engaged to a foreigner for almost two and a half years. Can these people not go to the US embassy in their countries and let someone know that they intend to seek asylum in the US before they trek their way North and clog up the whole immigration system? I know US embassies and consulates can't grant asylum, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to show up there and have them help figure out a better plan then crossing and getting detained. It at least shows some forethought. I'm a regular NPR listener, but I have to change the station when they talk about immigration these days because my blood starts to boil. I can barely talk to my parents about where my finance and I are in the process (32 days after our RFE response was received and waiting for an NOA2) without getting angry and choking up.

Well, it's hard to say if you did or didn't do the right thing but that now is water over the dam. Looking forward, and this is my opinion, you basically have three things you can do.

1. Stay the course and watch CEAC for updates as this may turn around pretty quickly but maybe drag out. Can't say for sure which.

2. Contact your U.S. representative's, contact information can be found in this handy directory, and your U.S. senator's information is in this one.

3. Shoot off an email to the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV The Ombudsman provides an impartial and independent perspective to USCIS in an attempt to resolve problems.

Or you can do all three. Keep us updated as this is something I have never ran across and would like to know what you did and what the outcome is.

I understand what you are feeling and how you view the current immigration challenge that we face. It's amazing that those of us who are taking the high road and doing it the right way seemingly are getting slapped in the face by those who are ILLIGAL. Yes illegal!! We who are doing it the right way spend thousands of dollars and months if not a year to do the right thing. I stand with my President when he slams the door on those who want to circumvent the system. If you are truly elgible for asylum then come to the front door and knock and ask permission. Don't sneak in under the fence and expect me to have a sympathy for your plight. I won't. A country must have laws and enforce them or the country will not exist as it is. Those who are coming in illegally are coming from countries that if we as USC did the same thing we either end up in jail or booted out of their country.

Well, my suspicion was correct.

After 3 hours of waiting on the phone a Tier 2 officer basically told me that because I inquired to get a hard copy for my NOA2 as I never received one they essentially have to review the case all over again. They requested the consulate to send the case back to the US for review because I inquired even though it was already approved. The officer told me that when they pull it back a different supervisor will have to review as he may have a different viewpoint than the original reviewer. How retarded is that?!

I shouldn't be angry with this forum as the wealth of information has been tremendous but a way I am as I was only doing what people told me I had to do. And now we're suffering for it again.....

So, if anyone falls into the same situation as I did and you receive notice from the NVC that your case was approved despite having received and NOA 2 hard copy, just proceed forward without it. You don't need it!! If you feel like you just have to then do it after your fiance arrives on US soil, otherwise, you'll just open up a can of worms like I did.....

I can't even rely on CEAC now because it still says "Ready". It doesn't indicate that it was returned and I was told by the NVC when I called them earlier not to even rely on it cause the system is flawed. What is wrong with these people?

So sad.....

So sorry to hear of this unfortunate situation.

I think it would be wise to advise others as you have to wait until after the interview to request an unreceived NOA2. You DO eventually need it. Just not at this stage.

Well you are caught in the middle of damn if you and damn if you don't. You have to have a NOA2 for the AOS package once you are married. Of course you don't need it for the Embassy interview so you could have gotten that out of the way but once in the USA then you could have contacted USCIS for a NOA2. I think things may have gone smoother because you would have been married and I am doubtful they would have done anything.

Hello guys, so we got our case number last june 27th through phonecall. But up to this time the status is still at nvc. Im just wondering if you guys have an idea on how long would it take before the status would change and why my fiancé doesn't receive any mail or email until now. And how long would it take before he can receive any email from nvc. Thank you, hope someone will give me an idea

Its going on 8 months now and we are still waiting for our noa2. I dont know what else to do. This is very discouraging and doubtful. Its like everyone is getting their noa2 and moving on, getting ready to start their lives together, and they have pushed us to the side. I am afraid to keep inquiring because it seems as if they push it back the more i inquire. The website claims that the petitions are processed in the order that they are received. I found this to be in conflict to the way they are processing, for instance we received noa1 in nov. 2 from the old website and the new website said nov 7. 2017. Is their anyone else going through this? Do anyone have any ideas on what else to do? Thos is so sad 😢.
