Had my interview on 30th April 2018. The Officer said I passed test and gave me papers that she will be recommending me for being approved and general information of the oath ceremony. Nothing is still updated online. Still showing that my notice for interview was mailed on 21st March 2018. Called to USCIS, and they told me that technically it can take up to 120 days for them to do anything. Then why do they put on the paper they give that I should get notice within 30 days? My friend who went for an interview 2 weeks later then me, got exactly the same papers from her officer and she already got an update online stating that her oath notice has been mailed out. I am so worried, of why is it taking so long? Does it mean something is wrong? I would so appreciate any input you might have. Thank you in advance!

18th March 2010- Application is accepted

23rd March 2010- Touched....

30th September 2010- Approved at USCIS Vermont

5th October 2010- Case was received at NVC

28th October 2010- Embassy received our case (US Embassy in Bangkok)

Don't worry about online status. Just watch out for snail mail or email in some cases, for notice of oath ceremony. Your delay is not yet within a range such as to cause much worry, even though many of us can relate about the waiting game!

If it helps to set you at rest about the online status... consider this: I have been a citizen since January, and my online status, many months since after my interview and oath ceremony,  still reads:

On September 19, 2017, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number NBC*00XXXXXXX. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Relax my friend nothing to worry about. You have done the hard part. If you’re clean and have nothing to cause them to open a motion against you for ineligibility then you’re fine. Sometimes when IO gives you approval recommendation, the supervisor that will review your application may be in leave or busy so until he gets a chance to see it you will have to wait.

1. files when you are being interviewed are at the local USCIS office and they don’t schedule oath ceremony, NBC schedules oaths and until the local office forwards it to them you will not be scheduled.

2. There is a scheduling queue, millions of other applicants are applying for immigration benefits so even if the local office forwards it early, depending on your office’s jurisdiction that performs the oath ceremony and their frequency, that will determine when you will have your oath.

3. USCIS is a bureaucratic organisation and they are in no rush whatsoever, and WE as applicants are privileged to be granted citizenship, it’s not our birthright. There a statutory requirements (120days) when you get done with interview to when you get your oath ceremony. Until that statutory period elapses, there’s nothing you can do to make them expedite your case.

4. Worst case scenario Sometimes IOs finish with your case and store them  either because they are on leave or some reason unbeknownst to me and they might forget about your file.

youve come a long way. I know the end is near yet faraway and want to hold that passport in your hand. Just continue to exercise patience, pray if you believe in prayers and sit tight, it will come very soon cos it seems like you’ve only been waiting for a month.

Hey guys I hope you all doing well.

Its about N400 application.

I am from Long Island  New York and my PD date is October 2017.

I had the interview on September 2018 and passed.

It's been more than 120 days now with no oath ceremony date or update .

I filed couple of service requests within 2 months and the 3rd one was 5 minutes ago. They told me we will email you or will call you about your case.

They have been telling me the same story every service request or on calls.

I am very distressed and dont know what to do from now on .

Any advices or recommendations i appreciate it.

My n400 was on 5 year rule.

Thank you and good luck everyone.
