VJ has a Bible of rules. It will entirely depend upon if TBS has similar rules and if they choose to apply them. Cable isn't known for family friendly content, but TBS has acted before in canceling shows due to comments made.

My disappointment in the show being cancelled solely stems from the fact that I will never find out if Becky ever has a baby, we will never know what happened to Mark on the show (how he died), and (ironically) how Roseanne's budding relationship with her new foreign neighbors will turn out. Other than that - you pay the price of your actions, including your employment.

 

While it's hard to compare a Hollywood celebrity whose job is aired on national television every week, to a regular every day Joe Blow whose job is barely noticed by anybody (probably even by their own boss).... there's still a parallel line of morality. You are a representation of the company you work for. It's probably also very possible that there was some sort of reputational or morality clause somewhere in the contract everyone on that show had to sign. They are the face of the company/station airing their show every week, just like I am a representation of the company that I work for. While I doubt my employer has a team of people assigned to every employee, where they go and check all of their posts day to day .... (oh who knows, maybe they do.. that'd be an interesting job... ).. if someone employed by the company posted or shared something blatantly racist or abhorrent that gained momentum and enough attention... they have the right to terminate that employee/employer relationship.

 

Roseanne didn't lose her job/show because she chose to be a closet racist in private on her own time. She lost her job/show because she chose to be very publicly racist and publicly (and pointedly) disrespected another person with juvenile name calling and slurs. That would definitely get me fired pretty quickly from my job. I'm prominently conservative, and even I still understand that.

I'd agree if was over the top, but I'm not one for usage of that word in any situation. Nor do I ever find her very funny either. For sure she'd be gone from network TV. Can't say what TBS will do. I know they canned a CeeLo show because of comments made and sex accusations. They haven't got much going on over at that channel these days.

As a person, how to accept and work with people who are different from myself.  As a manager, how to exploit those differences and effectively put people in positions where they “produced” (or effectively worked) more.

Most diversity programs go through the protected classes in the beginning.
