birth certificate back?

We just sent in the I-130 and only included a copy of the front of my husband's birth certificate. (that's all it asks for on the official form instructions) But on reading the guides here, they say send a 'front and Back'. I also noticed on the official instructions for the I-129F they ask for 'front and back'.

So are they going to delay our I-130 with a request for copy of the back of his birth certificate? Should I copy the back (it's just blank) and send it in without waiting for them to ask?

It's very early to know whether an RFE will be required. Depending on who the official reviewing your file, they may or may not be like a robot. Lets pray they are not robots, and just takes the necessary information that you gave.

Think about it... you did send a copy of the front and back.... If you don't believe me flip the copy over... does it look like the back of the original?

YMMV

They only want to see that it has been certified by the issuing agency that it a true copy of the original that they have in ther book of records. Sometimes these certifications are stamped, dated and signed on the back.

That might be true in some cases but not this one....

The fact that you birth certificate is blank on the back is meaningless and not helpful.

Why bother posting if you have nothing to offer...Im just telling you THE WAY IT IS!!!

OK THE WAY IT IS... The OP was worried about not submitting the back of the birth certificate because it was blank. The fact of the matter is that she did submit it because the back of the what was submitted was in fact blank as well. So if you have nothing to offer the OP then why do you post... Hijacking threads to hear yourself speak is meaningless...

YMMV

The Way it Is,

If there's something on the back, photocopy the back.

If the back is blank, as in RocksAnne's case, a photocopy of the front strangely turns out to be have exact duplicate of the back of the original as well. That's the way it is.

I don't know if it's really needed or not but I read send the front and the back so I just took a blank piece of paper and wrote on it "Back of birth certificate was blank" and stuck that in right behind the copy of the front of my birth certificate.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!

LvivLovers,

Why the extra blank piece of paper? Ever heard of 2-sided copying and printing?
