Hello People,

Currently F-1, recently got married to a citizen, and trying to file form i-131, advanced parole so that I can travel outside US to visit family before my green card arrives, should I apply to use advanced parole 131 several times in several trips or just one time? how many days should i apply?I am not sure how many max days we are allowed, let's say i want to use advanced parole twice, once in Feb 2019 to visit China for two weeks, then back to the US, then once in July 2019 for vacation in Thailand/Japan/Laos, should the expected length of trip be five month?

Can we only use the advanced parole multiple times? also, if i want to use advanced parole in the span of two years, for multiple times, should i put in "expected length of trip" to 2 years?

And when should be an appropriate start date? I plan to file by June 15th, 2018, so can i list the advanced parole date to be from September 2018 to September 2019?

No you don’t need to send in multiple AP applications. Again when applying for advance parole as an adjustment of status applicant, you can perfectly write “unknown” where it asks for duration of trips, lengths of trips and expected time of travel. In short you don’t need to have any specific reason when applying under this category. If filed together with your EAD (employment authorization document) which you should since it’s also free anyway, the AP validity will be tied to the validity of the EAD and will be 1 year. Your EAD card will come with the annotation “serves as as I-512 advance parole” as well. You can travel multiple times as validity permits with this EAD/AP card, and if you don’t get your green card within a year you can always apply for a renewal again free of charge.
