I got a call today from my mother in law, telling me that my Interview letter arrived at her house today.

In many ways I was excited. The problem however is that we have moved to an other state in January. We lived with my husbands parents for a while and started the AOS process in NJ but moved out and away to TN in January of 07. I made sure that the HLS and the USCIS was notified of the address change. All went well I received letters of MSC and the VSC that all may pending cases have been updated with my new address in TN (that was 2 month ago). All my mail came to the new address in TN. Received also HLS confirmation that they have received myAR-11. Jet strangely enough the Interview letter comes to the old address and the Interview will be done in NJ.

Now I'm not complaining. In fact I'm kind of glad. See where I live in TN it would take me 8 hours to get to Memphis for the Interview. It takes us 10 hours to get to NJ (not that much of a difference) and we can stay at his parent's house until we are done. Also I can have my Lawyer represent me at the Interview.

However, I'm very worried as well. If I go now to the Interview in NJ (I really don't want to cancel this Interview) and we live know in TN, can this be a problem? In a way it is there fault, after all I did all my part on my side to make sure they know we have moved - 3 month ago? It also says on the letter if you don't come to the Interview they consider the case as abandoned.

Also, my husband has a DL from TN. I couldn't get a DL/ID from TN because they don't issue DL/ID for non permanent residence. I read that at the Interview they always ask for an ID. The only one I have is from my home country and my passport. Oh yah and my work permit card. They all have my married name on it. Will that be O.K.

Yea, not make difference if you cancel or re-schedule your interview when driving is almost the same miles. Asking for re-schedule will cause your AOS more delay. About ID, it's ok you can use your passport and work permit. I used my passport before. Goodluck.

You should go to this interview--no telling how long you would have to wait for another one!

You really don't need an attorney at the interview--just your spouse.

We had our interview recently and we were asked how we met. Then the interviewer asked to see photos. Then he asked for mail. And then it was pretty much over. He also explained about lifting conditions in 2 years. It was a very unstressful and friendly chat.
