Hello, I'm a permanent resident and our I-130 petition current date is coming up very soon (probably within the next couple of months).  Regarding the next steps, should I start filling out the AOS (I-485) and other forms?

I found a resource that lists these forms that should be filled out.  I take it the I-485 effectively the green card application and also adjusts her visa status?  My wife wants to go see her parents in her home country, I understand she won't be able to leave as she's currently on a F-1 Visa and that she needs to wait the 4-8 months until she gets her AOS

Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status     This is a required form used to claim the immigrant visa and adjust status .
Form I-864, Affidavit of Support    This is a required form used to show that the applicant has adequate means of financial support.
Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record    This is a required form used to establish that the applicant is not inadmissible on public health grounds.
Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization    This is an optional form used to request permission to work in the United States.
Form I-131, Application for Travel Document    This is an optional form used to request an Advance Parole travel document a necessary document to re-enter the U.S.

Thank you for your response.  I hadn't heard of I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence.  What specific purpose does it have?

I take it we send all I-485, I-864, I-693, I-765, I-131 and I-751 in together?

EDIT: I see Form I-131 has a field for Alien Registration # which she won't have until 14-18 months after we file the I-485?

EDIT2: Removed superfluous question

Thank you!

I saw in another post that your priority date is August 2016, based on the facts that your spouse is currently in the US and on the "chart used for filing in the visa bulletin" you can already file the AOS package. There is no need to wait.  My priority date was April 2017, i've already filed my AOS and my  i130 is still pending just FYI.
