Hi, I have applied for adjustment of status, work permit & travel document based on marriage to a US Citizen. My case was accepted on Feb 27th, 2018 got my biometrics appointment for a month later,  29 March 2018. Now it's been 3 months, I haven't heard back or received an email notification regarding my work permit & travel document. I am based in Houston, Texas, sent my documents to Chicago lockbox, my tracking number starts with MSC. Anyone who can tell me how long do I have to wait further? Also after work permit, what's the timeline for getting the interview and getting the green card?

Btw, I got no request for evidence yet, does that mean all my documents are approved or they can still ask for more evidence? I only got one letter of my Medical form not being accepted in March 2018, which was the fault of the physician for using old forms, so it was stated on the letter to bring the current form on the Interview.

You're just in line with everybody else. The EAD and AP are taking ~3-6 months right now, with most being close to the 4 month mark. You won't hear anything back after NOA1 unless you get an RFE/RFIE, approval, or denial.

I-485s adjudicated by Houston are taking 11-25.5 months right now. They usually send out the interview notice a couple months beforehand.

Not getting an RFE or RFIE yet is good, but it doesn't mean they have reviewed any of your documents yet. Even after the EAD or AP are issued, you can get an RFE up to any point prior to approval of the I-485, including after the interview.

@Geowarian - Thank you. The case status online on USCIS says form 130/131/765 was last reviewed on March 23rd, Form-485 on April 12th. I am asking for a timeline as I was supposed to start work, I gave a tentative deadline to start my appointment by May end but I might lose my appointment now :(

Hopefully they get to your case soon.

There is no specific timeline for an individual case. Current estimates are 3-6 months, with ~4 months being common.

You can't work until you have the EAD, which typically takes a week or 2 to arrive after they approve the I-765. If necessary, you may need to reach out to your prospective employer to set new expectations.

If you have a firm job offer already, you can request an expedite by calling USCIS.

Thank you, I called USCIS today to ask about the expedite option. They told me currently Texas is processing cases from dec 2017, so it will take another 2 months for a work permit. Initially, I assumed it only takes 3 months from the processing date.

I have one other question, I filed my application based in Houston. Now if I change my address to another city where I will be moving in future, can I change the address to that city? Is it going to have a positive impact on the application or will create more road blocks? Like Houston is currently processing Dec 2015 applications for Form 485, some other city is processing Dec 2016.  Should I change it to get any benefit or it will take the same time? Thanks
