did you ask a few thousand kurds about iraq's ability to use wmd's? we've had this conversation before, chemical and biological weapons fit into being a wmd.

True, but we didn't start the war to rescue the poor "Kurds".

Lets also not forget that people were condemning those people as "barbarians" the other day - for carrying out "honor" killings...

Why did you start the war anyways?

Wars are profitable. Congressional "emergency war spending bills" (which have cost us

more than $400 billion since 2003) are separate from the annual military budget ($440 billion

this year) and are basically taxpayer subsidies to private military corporations and companies

operating within the military industry.

It's all a big scam. Very clever too -- you bomb the ####### out of a country, and then you

ask the U.S. taxpayer for $400 billion to help rebuild it, all in the name of "national security".

I just love the way this has been twisted into "Bush lied". He didn't lie at all.

One name: Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi.

Look it up. This thug was more trustworthy to Bush than the DIA. Either that or Bush lied his fcuking ####### off to get his war. Take your pick. Your boy looks extremely bad either way.

[Comic Book Guy] Worst president ever. [/Comic Book Guy] :jest:

I still don't understand how he got a 2nd term. Oh wait, I do. Same sex marriage and abortion were more important than an unjust war and world opinion. :bonk:

Edit: I know Kerry/Edwards didn't exactly come across as inspiring leaders but Bush/Cheney already proved they were incompetent if not criminal. Lesser of 2 evils people? Ah nevermind...

I just love the way this has been twisted into "Bush lied".

Its easy to twist things. For example, your initial post here can easily be summed up with the following words:

Gary sides with Al-Quaida terrorists against the US Congress.

That's actually a good point. Easy to spin things to fit a particular world-view.

I just love how the Reps know they were wrong to support this dolt and his war and the best they can come up with is to say it's the Dems fault too. Sorry, but that doesn't fly. People thought Iraq had WMD's because that's what they were told by the Bush administration. They ignored (suppressed) info that didn't fit their agenda and promoted the info that did. They also exaggerated the threat of the alleged WMD's. I'm not going to dig up links but people inside and outside the administration have said exactly that. Oh and I can't believe you seriously think a Dem congress person had the same access to intel as the president.

What has this war gotten us? Over 3000 soldiers killed. Many times that in civilians killed. Billions of dollars spent. World opinion at an all-time low. That's what the Iraq war has accomplished. And for what? Safety? If you say yes you're kidding yourself. I'm traveling outside the US this weekend and I can tell you I felt a lot more safe traveling internationally before this war started.

You can call them cowards and have no respect for them but I'd rather have a coward Dem than a war-mongering idiot Rep. November 2008 can't get here fast enough.

Sorry, Bush wasn't wrong for starting the war. He was totaly right. The biggest mistake he made was not giving them enough troops to secure Iraq after we kicked out Saddam. The dems are cowards. They will eventually get us in a lot more trouble than we are in now. Hiding your head in the sand and pretending that there isn't a threat isn't going to solve anything and will just make matters worse. We are at war. Denying that is just lying to yourself.

You say you would rather have a coward running things? That says a lot about you then. I wish Regan was still president. He would take care of things the way they should have been from the begining. You can take the cowards way out if you like. I would rather be agressive and make a few mistakes along the way than hide under my bed and let the terrorists win.

Personally I'd sooner see a cooler head running things who doesn't ride rough-shod across the whole MENA like a bull in a china shop, engaging in unilateral military action of dubious justification and value.

So you advocate tucking tail and running? If we had the will we could win this thing.

We had the will for the last 4+ years. And what, exactly, have we accomplished during that time? Zippo. Nada. Nothing. Zilch. Zero. Scrap. You seem to advocate that we keep playing their game on a turf that they are far more familiar with than we will ever be. You advocate more hatred towards the US throughout the world, the manufacturing of more terrorists that we'll ever be able to eliminate unless we are prepared to nuke and take out the whole of MENA and Persia at the very least.

Newsflash: Stay the course ain't working. Hasn't for the last four years and won't for the next. The only reason we're still there is not because anyone seriously believes there's anything to be won militarily but because we have a stubborn son of a ####### sitting at 1600 Penn Ave who rather wastes another 3,000 servicemen and women or whatever it is going to take than to admit that he royally fcuked this whole thing up and start looking for real solutions to the mess he created.

Only a fascist can advocate nuking a region rich in natural resources and an ancient and vibrant culture. Amerika has earned itself only more hatred and such bullying behaviour will blow-back onto your United States.

You should've heeded the words of your first President and avoided foreign entanglements.

so you want another 4+ years, another gazillion dollars in debt, and another 3,000 death soldiers? I think Bush already got his chance.. if 4 years is not enough, I don't know what is

How so? There is no justification anywhere for attacking another nation without cause and due process. There was neither. As such, it was absolutely wrong no matter how you slice it.

The biggest mistake he made was not giving them enough troops to secure Iraq after we kicked out Saddam.

The biggest mistake was for that Texas Yahoo to pull a John Wayne w/o having any clue. He still doesn't have a clue. He's just going to carry on this war as long as he can to hand the mess to someone else that he is then going to blame for his failure. He'll get another few thousand Americans and multiples of that in Iraqi civilians killed in the process. But he won't care because he and his buddies get rich from all that blood. He's gotten more Americans killed already than the 19 Hijackers on 9/11. I say it's time he's being held accountable. That's the only cowardness I see in the Dems: They won't impeach Bush's crooked #######.

and GB is such an excellent example? :help: :help:

I personally believe we should have taken more time in investigating a lot of things, more proof of the WMD or whatever to be sure. And as to our first president... we should have heeded his words against multiple political parties more.

Meh. Your blaming the Libs is a broken record. Bush had free reign for 6 years and what did it get us? Disaster. You wish Reagan was president? Well I wish Bush wasn't president. In fact, I'll trade you and I mean Reagan in his current condition because it would be better. A stuffed monkey would be better.
