Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time

They are currently interviewing EB for medical professionals.

"The United States Consulate General in Montreal has resumed certain immigrant visa services, including spouses and children of U.S. citizens, K-1 fiancé(e) visa applicants, and other categories such as medical professionals. All other immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services remain restricted to emergency appointments.  "

They will need to do more though according to this note: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/immigrant-visa-prioritization.html

I don't think they are responding to emails but we should start seeing some interviews... Not many of course, but some. (I am a DV winner)

"However, the prioritization plan also instructs posts to schedule and adjudicate some cases in Tier Three and Tier Four each month.  The Department recognizes that visa applicants, particularly those in Tiers Three and Four, will face continued delays."

Thank you for that update! I hope they will start interviewing EV and other categories soon.

Received this email from NVC.

Waiting goes on....

Dear Sir/Madam,

This notice is to inform you that your case for an immigrant visa is documentarily complete at the National Visa Center (NVC) and has been for at least 60 days.  NVC has received all of the fees, forms and documents required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview. Your petition is awaiting an interview appointment. At this time, no further action is required.  We appreciate your patience.

Your case will remain at NVC until an appointment is scheduled, at which time we will send it to the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate General.  We will notify the applicant, petitioner, and attorney (if applicable) when an appointment is scheduled.

The U.S. Embassy or Consulate tells NVC which dates they are holding interviews. NVC fills these appointments on a first-in, first-out basis and is unable to predict when an interview will be scheduled.

Visa interviews at many U.S. Embassies and Consulates have been delayed as a result of the global COVID-19 outbreak.  For the most up-to-date information about the U.S. Embassy or Consulate's operating status, please visit their website at https://www.usembassy.gov.

The next communication you receive from NVC will be either a notice that your appointment is scheduled, or if an appointment is not scheduled within the next 120 days, we will send a notice confirming that your case is still in line for an interview.

Important: The applicant should not make any permanent financial commitments until they have received their immigrant visa. This includes activities such as:
        - Selling a house, car or property,
        - Resigning from a job, or;
        - Making other travel arrangements.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Regards,
National Visa Center
U.S. Department of State

Hi Guys. I am new to this forum and currently in the process of submitting DS-260.

Can I submit the Civil Documents online on CEAC website or they have to be mailed. I was under the impression that they can be uploaded online as per the NVC processing steps here: Submit Documents (state.gov)

I found few people mentioning earlier that they mailed their documents as they had no section to upload documents(page 81 of this thread). Is the upload document feature only applicable to Family Based applications?

The welcome email I got from NVC (with login information to CEAC) has a page with "Document Cover Sheet". Does this mean I have to mail the documents?

If I have to mail the documents, here are some of my questions:

- Can me and my wife both send documents as part of same package/mail? In that case I need to attach 2 cover sheets?

- Do I receive confirmation once the documents are processed by NVC? eg. email saying they received my documents. I am not referring to DQ email. I am just looking for some sort of confirmation that they received the documents.

- Which address the documents need to be sent?

Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

No, employment based cases need to mail-in their civic documents to NVC. I believe family based category have the option to upload it online.

I had sent one packet for my entire family, with NVC cover sheet on the top. If I recall correctly, NVC cover sheet has very specific instructions on the order of the documents need to be placed in.

No, we don't get any confirmation that documents have been received. I tracked it by FedEx tracking number that the package was delivered. Once your civic documents has been processed and DQ, you will receive an email confirmation.

I don't have address information handy but it should be listed on the cover page or Dept of state website.

Thanks for your response. So I should mail the documents as soon as I submit DS-260 on CEAC or there is some sort of email from NVC asking to submit the documents after they review DS-260?

I had filled my DS-260 and then mailed in the civic documents. There is no mail from NVC asking to submit civic documents after you submit DS-260. Your company's lawyers should have already received instructions with cover sheet to mail in the civic documents.

Thank you boss. I got cover sheet from lawyers. I am about to submit my DS-260 and I am confused about where to send documents. When I logged in to CEAC and selected "STAR NOW" on IV application there was a page as per below which asked me to submit documents at address in Portsmouth, NH. However, the welcome package with cover sheet is asking to submit documents at address in Virginia. Here is the link in welcome packageSubmitting Documents to the NVC (state.gov)

Someone in this thread mentioned similar thing on page 81. @farzady @agrisiva @Waiver 2019/2020

Please help :(
