Hi Everybody - I'm thinking of getting my Canadian Citizenship, which means that my travel document will be updated to a new Canadian passport from my Indian passport. My oath is scheduled to be in few days.

Is it allowed to change the travel document after case is complete? I guess, I have to update my citizenship in DS260 as well. Would this have an impact on the case that is complete in NVC.

Would it further delay the process?

Anybody any thoughts? Any ideas? Any recommendations?

Thx again!

If you carry both passports, which means if your are going to be a dual citizen, I would keep my old passport which is alredy submitted as it is without getting the case more complicated. Becouse obtaining canadian citizenship does not change your country of chargebility. For my knowledge, you cannot change DS-260 once it is submitted. You can do it at the day of the interview with the help of a consular officer. Hope this is helpful. Pls keep in touch on the update of IL

@Daniel2014 Thanks for the info. The problem is that you are not allowed to hold the Indian passport too long, since India doesn't allow dual citizenship(3 months max after the oath).

Perhaps , I could use the help of the  consular officer during the time of interview.

Moreover, i don't see anything happening at NVC before the end of December 2019 and my Canadian oath cannot  be rescheduled again. In each case my case my case might be complicated. Lets see how it goes!

Thanks Guys for the info.

Why do you think before the end of the December nothing would happen from NVC. Burbur and Shaik got their interviews for Sept. becouze they are current. Me you and Sadee are the next in line according to our timeline. Our cases will be current from Oct. Why do you think about December since we have two whole months before that. Just courious...

Hi guys, I have a question. After my docs have been submitted for the consular processing,  I received an email from the NVC on 06/03/19 saying that my visa case being processed and that they are missing one document. This document has been submitted to NVC the next day and on 06/28/19 i received a second email from NVC saying the following:

"...The National Visa Center (NVC) received all the requested documentation for this immigrant visa case.  The applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas, where a consular officer will adjudicate the applicant’s visa application..."

When I login to CEAC to check my case it shows this:

image.thumb.png.55fff95a5297a86b013d023960dec490.png

I know other people actually see a different status:

image.png.7b881d2328e58c78e25e9abe1f2568f8.png

Any thoughts on what is happening? Do you think there is a glitch in CEAC or I am simply not in the queue for the interview appointment with the consulate? What status do you see when you check?

I called NVC and they said everything seems to be ok, I am actually waiting for the interview to be scheduled, however, the CEAC still shows"At NVC" and not "Ready"

My PD is October 2018, type - EB3

Thanks guys and good luck with your visa journeys.

Hi @Daniel2014 - I'm speculating here! So please forgive me if i'm wrong.

My gut feeling says that there is already a backlog in the queue waiting for October due to retrogression. Having known that Montreal only schedules the interview once a month( between 8th to 15th), it is highly unlikely that we might fall into the next batch.

If Montreal expands their allocations for EB visa, we might get lucky to get IL in November-19 which means interview in December. Again, i could be wrong!

Yes, there might be a backlog. But once our cases become current they consider the CC date first. As long as you are current, PD does not matter for them to schedule cases. Then they  schedule the first case completed. First in first out as lond as the PD is current. Pls correct me if I'm wrong

I got my CC letter saying same thing as yours. My ceac status shows "At NVC". I think "Ready" shows when it is scheduled for an interview. How did you get that READY Screen shot. Just courious

@Norderilman Did you get you case complete letter from NVC & when did you get it? There is approximately, a waiting time from 4 - 6 months after your case is complete. Until then, the status in NVC will be show as "At NVC".

Please refer the Historic data that @Daniel2014 has post above.

Hi Man2Man, yes I did. I got my CC letter on 06/26. If ready means the case is scheduled for the interview then it explains why I see "At NVC". Thanks for the reply.

I just took my MTL number and entered like few numbers back and see ready... Simple

"At NVC " means case is at the NVC and not scheduled for an interview yet. My case shows like that from the day I received my cc letter. When ever I call NVC they never say my case has a problem. They always say it is waiting for an interview slot to become  available from Montreal. Anyway, if you dont mind would you tell us in which field you entered MTL number to get READY thing shows. Only place where we enter our case number is to log into ceac for my knowledge.

I see. Lets say you number is MTL99999999, try to enter MTL99999991 and see wether or not it returns any results. If it does not, then try MTL99999989, etc

Oh.. But it is not your case number. What does under your case number says? if it shows 'At NVC', I guss thats is fine.. You are waiting like all of us. Never know when the interview is going to schedule.

Exactly, this is not my case number. I was just worried that my case is stuck and the call centre agents do not really provide any helpful information. It now explains what does the "Ready" state really mean. You are absolutely right, I am basically now waiting like all of us. Hopefully, we get the interview dates within the next 2-3 months, but this is just hope...
